It's all about the amps so don't even stress it. Pick your favorite weapon and character and equip the proper amps.
The main focus should be having fun and making lasting friendships, or just brushing up your skills for MEAMP.

I run around gold with my lvl3 shuriken bro, no amps. All that fancy stuff is just a crutch

Hey! I've just set up my new Playstation 3 and I've just started Mass Effrct 3 multiplayer! It's been about 3 years since I've played and I have my own account now! I'm so happy and nervous haha. I'm looking for people to play with. My shifts at the cafe where I work are mental so I can't say when I'll be able to play, but I look forward to seeing some of you out there. x

I just finished my first game! Haha I'm so proud. It was Firebase Giant against the Collectors. They're so scary and so strong too! There was a giant Geth stood in the corner doing nothing. We all died by wave 7 but I was the last one standing! Haha I'm proud of myself. I came second! There was just a giant crab shooting lasers at me haha and I died. There was someone's drone giving me a helping hand but there were just too many enemies. I forgot how hard this game was! x

Thanks guys. You seem like such great people. That game was terrifying! I can't tell you how much I'm afraid of Banshees! And the big Brutes things kept chasing me and just wouldn't die! Haha at the end I got trapped in a corner by about twenty spiders and I nearly died again. I was so glad when I actually survived. You're all so good players and got insanely high scores! I felt like the biggest nuisance ever haha. I didn't get why you suddenly started talking about curry though? Am I missing something??? x

 

For a start I was a bit scared when I first got invited to the chat room... when I was called fresh meat you sounded like a cult haha. I also got paranoid because someone didn't like my name??? I'm so sorry if that's the case I won't play again if you don't want me to... x

I really had no idea what I was doing haha. I kept using the drone because it can stagger people? Is that what it's for??? It kept dying though which it didn't do on my other game. :/ Other than that, I had the orange fire incinerate and the electricity? Things just kept exploding haha. I thought explosions were good so kept trying to make them happen but it didn't always work.

^ a Gold farming mission on Glacier should not take more than 17-19 minutes tops (that's with devices) 

 

Even a scrub like me with three pugs and team not optimized for efficiency can finish it in under 16 minutes. With a proper team consisting of two or three good players with spawn nuking it should be done in around 12 minutes maybe lower.

 

 

@OP if you don't mind playing with a slightly higher ping (if you are not near Australia or Canada as those locations are too far and getting lower ping to players there isn't possible without futuristic faster than light internet) and want easy credits you are more than welcome to add me on Origin. I want to practice gold and solo platinum so I could use some players that can replace drones/decoys of engineer classes I can't guarantee wave 10 credits 100% but most of the times mission will be successful. Wave 6 gold credits is a guarantee and should finish in less than what a full silver game costs almost similar payout.

Does promoting a class have any benefits to it?

 C'mon, you people are all forgetting the very most important benefit of promoting: it gives you war assets for the single-player campaign!
 

What do the ticks under the characters mean? Some have 1, 2, 3,4,5?

Every time you get a weapon or character card, a tick gets added.  For weapons it adds a level (= more damage, more spare ammo, lighter weight); for characters it simply unlocks more appearance modifications, so it's purely cosmetic.
