People would be just as pi$$3d if there was an asian person or a black person or a Hispanic person. Having a white male is more in the middle. Besides we have a little something called customization. Why is it off putting for someone other than a white male to be on a cover of a game?

I don't care what race or gender is on a cover of a game. I am a black male, and have gotten used to the fact that outside of the sports genre, seeing a black man gracing the cover of a game extremely rare. If Mass Effect 1 originally had a female cover over the male, I would be fine with it. Just as I was fine with playing default Male Shepard.
I don't see the point of being upset about who or what is on the cover.

Would I like a lady Pathfinder on the cover? That would be pretty neat. Would I be okay with both genders on the cover? Sure. A guy? Why not? I'm just hoping for a different look than the scruffy 30 something dude with the short or shaved dark hair. Alternating covers? Cool.
My preference at this point in time is going the NWN or DA:O route. The symbol of Tyr they used for NWN shown on a black background was striking and I thought it worked great. DA:O had more of the dragon prominent while showing bits of companions and the darkspawn. DA:I's worked as well. I think the focus should be more on the icons of the game, such as adding the ARKCON patch on the front with more details inside the cover/alternate art for the digital downloads.
Now, I'm a big fan of more marketing for both male and female PCs. To me, that's a great way to show off more than just one type of female or male character by going, "Look at how purdy the character creator is!" Showing more looks for the PC helps prevent any "canon" appearances.
I'm not going to worry about the cover too much. No matter what it is, I'm going to wait for player reviews once it comes out. I know what I would prefer to see for the cover art (the symbol or armor,) but I also know that it's a very minor thing. A cover doesn't prevent me from playing a game I'm looking forward to. Crashing, getting stuck in the terrain or other such bugs can and have prevented me from playing games in the past.

I'm into the switch covers.Ah yes. This debate again. I feel like I'm back in the DA forums about 2 years ago.

Though I won't be surprised if they do a guy with a cloak looking up at the sky. Or maybe an up-close of an angry-looking badass military man cliche sort of guy.

Switch cover is nice, but I don't really want to see the main character's face. I mean, I customized my Shepard, I loved her the way I designed her, and it always bothered me to see the basic female Shepard on the cover who's faaaaaar different from my own character ![]()
I like the Dragon Age covers, especially DAI. Seen just the back of the main character on a really beautiful illustration is fine, you can make your own idea about how he/she looks.

I'm hoping they won't go with default look in the cover at least, not a big fan with default looks on games where you do your own character.

Equality is worst think you can do in game we have genres for a reason. Different people like different thinks. if you make game for everybody you make game for no one. Why feminist com plane about half naked women in games because it's catering to different demography. Look at moves I don't watch magic mike because it's not made for me and it's fine. And it's not about different sex likes different thinks. I don't like horror moves, I am not complaining "make horror movies leas scary" I just don't watch it. It's like complaining playboy have naked women, only idiot would do it, oh wait feminists actually do it.

I'd be up for it! That said I'd prefer a DA:I approach where we don't see their face, unless they go for face models again with ME:A.

As much as i feel femShep shaped my views towards ME early on, i think it might be beneficial for a more "generic" cover which excludes the PC. Yes, we are to choose our next PC who'll be used to hike through the various landscapes, it's the new world we're there for.

I'm thinking maybe a tinted helmet with a new world being reflected off it would make a decent cover.

We don't know for certain, but the US 369th Infantry, an African-American unit known as the Harlem Hellfighters, seem to feature prominently in the game with a bunch of weapon customisations themed after them, so it's not a far-fetched conclusion. On the other hand, he's armed with a German Mauser C96 and MP-18 "Grabenfeger". I think his primary purpose is to look cool, which in my opinion he manages quite well.
Thanks. Hadn't heard that, but it makes sense. I imagine those German weapons are probably looted. That's how weapon progression often works, right?
