If the cover art doesn't represent my gender identity, I won't buy the game. It's that simple.

They should put a hermaphrodite on the cover. It would have a little cuttlefish dangling down there.

there's a nice little graphic novel on it. Good read too.Thanks. Hadn't heard that, but it makes sense. I imagine those German weapons are probably looted. That's how weapon progression often works, right?

What if Bioware uses a female PC as the cover art lead instead of the traditional male default PC as seen in the original series?
I was inspired to write this because looking at BF1 cover art and it being a black male seems offputting since blacks played an extreme minority role in the First World War as soldiers.
Actually according to this page http://www.polygon.c...woman-animation
originally I guess the Hero of mass effect was a Female.

That was only animation. There was never a point during development where a male protagonist wasn't planned. Concept art of both gender versions of the protagonist were created before any work was done on animating characters.

Looted weapons is indeed the explanation I would expect in single player (which will likely feature multiple protagonists). Weapon progression in Battlefield multiplayer generally ignores nationality - you can unlock and use any weapon regardless of the side/nation you are playing in a given match.Thanks. Hadn't heard that, but it makes sense. I imagine those German weapons are probably looted. That's how weapon progression often works, right?

i think they should let us design it ,the best one sent in from fans/people wins the chance to get there design on the front cover
With respect to the artist on the team, i kinda hope note though maybe an option like what they did for the ME3 cover. Though maybe more choice than hair color. ![]()

Ten years ago this month, my very first anim test for Mass Effect. Yup, Commander Shepard was originally a woman: pic.twitter.com/FhC2E0FSrA

He is talking about the animation. Again, concept art of male Shep existed before animation work was done. There was never a point in development where Shepard was locked into a single gender.

So because the male on the BF1 cover is not white, that makes it a politically correct statement?<<<<<<<<<<(0)>>>>>>>>>>
Surely you are not surprised? BF1 cover art is designed for the political correct times in the USA.
Showing both, ME:A will appeal to a larger gamer community.

I like the enthusiasm! ![]()
I was thinking more along the lines of a sort of confused ideological bent that straddles the line between evil and progressiveness, or just like so progressive it ultimately is sort of like evil or.. perhaps evil to some.. good to others.. I don't know something though
