Not sure if this is a bug or not but ever since I started the Trespasser DLC, my Inquisitor is reduced to 1hp every time he gets hit.  He is a lvl 27 knight enchanter and has been able to hold his own to the toughest enemies in the game without losing any hp and now one hit by a deepstalker all the way to 1 hp.  The only thing different is that I'm using a crafted armor I made before starting the last mission.  I'm unsure why this is happening so any help would be helpful.

Equipment:

Staff: Crafted version of Staff of Corruption

Armor: Crafted version of Vestments of the Dragon Hunter

Helmet: Cowl of the Pure

Belt: The Bind That Guides

Amulet: The Eye That Weeps

Ring 1: The Ring of Doubt

Ring 2: The Hand That Cuts

Check your fade touched. That does sound like a glitch, not a terrible one but still I'd try different armor.

Sounds like a bug, but need more information to rule out some possibilities in gear. You sure that's the belt you have? Because a Superb Belt of the XXX Pact could have the effect you are describing.

Can you post screenshots of the stats of all your crafted gear?

Do you have a Sigil of any kind on your armor? If so, what kind?

Since you mentioned deepstalkers, I assume you are in the Deep Roads section of Trespasser. So too soon for Anchor Discharge to be damaging you. When you get hit for all but 1 point of your health, do you have barrier and guard at the same time? If so, even more likely it is a bug. It's like something is doing poison or elemental damage to you. What are your resistances to each of those, according to the character Attributes screen?

I have tried the version of The Vestment of the Dragon Hunter that I found normally but the same thing happened.

I haven't equipped any of the Pact of XXX gear since I don't like the abilities they have.

I'm playing on Xbox One so little hard to get screenshots so I'll write the stats here:

Crafted version of Vestments of the Dragon Hunter

Armor Rating - 310

Item level 26

+45% Magic Defense

+141 Maximum Health

No sigil

Crafted version of Staff of Corruption:

177 DPS

77 fire damage

+32 Damage vs living

+21% Armor Penetration

+24% Attack

+70% Critical Damage Bonus

Berserk: +30% Damage Bonus, +300% Damage From All Sources

Master Corrupting Rune

No sigils on any equipment.

I am at the deep roads section but I think it's been like this even earlier.  It first happened during the first fight with Qunari Shock Trooper in the elven ruin but I thought it was just that it hit really hard.  Wasn't until I noticed my party members could fight him with much difficulty that I noticed something was off.  I usually have both guard and barrier at the same time since due to Horn of Valor.  When I get reduced to 1 hp, I get a full barrier from Guardian Spirit.  My electrical resistance is 20% but I noticed something really wrong with my other resistances:

Magic defense: -222% when usually 78%

Melee Defense: -274% when usually 25%

Ranged Defense: -251% when usually 45%

Not sure how this happened

I did turn on the Walk Softly Trial before going into combat for the first time through when it's unchecked now.

This is the culprit:

Berserk: +30% Damage Bonus, +300% Damage From All Sources

There you have the culprit.

That what it was.  I misunderstood what that meant, not worded very well.  Back at the winter palace, all my resistances were normal.  Thought something was badly glitched or something.  After equipping the staff, all resistances went back to normal.

Thanks so much for the help.

Glad it was that simple. If you equip a different staff, does the 1 HP left problem go away?

They ought to put a class restriction on Beserk masterworks. Only allowed on warriors. So many people get burned by that effect.

I can't even imagine my Reaver using that Masterwork. He's already using the Heal on Hit Masterwork and still sometimes Dragon Rages himself to death.  <_<

Yeah.  I changed my staff and the problem went away.  I didn't consider that my staff would affect my defense like that.

Those berserk craft materials are the only ones I sell every time. I don't need any help taking damage, thank you!

Why a warrior restriction? warriors are those hit more often and they need to be the most invulnerable they can so whatever happens to the dps guys he will stand and be able to resurrect them with a dragon hitting him and continue the fight

A +300% damage taken could work on my glasscannon DW rogue maybe; he dies anyway any time he's hit by anything and + 30% damage will help for the 10 seconds he remains alive in a boss fight.

Glasscannon for any class makes sense too, although there are much better ways for a rogue to get damage buffs than berserk Masterworks.

Warriors generally have the highest max health and the highest armor values. So they can afford to take more hits at quadruple damage than any other class. Plus, the Champion specialization has ways to mitigate damage. That's the logic. You wouldn't necessarily tank with a berserk warrior, you might use them only for DPS.

Too many people read the "300% damage from all sources" as a buff, not a debuff. Maybe if the wording was changed to be more clear, it would be fine to not have any class restriction.

I'm trying out Fade-Touched Hardened Gurn Hide (+30% damage bonus if not being hit for 5 seconds) with my DW Rogue ATM and it's quite awesome.

I just finished Descent with Blackwall tanking the final boss and never getting hit in the health, losing a bit of guard at most, impressive damage resistance and he is two habded not SnS and doesnt even have a crafted dragonbone armor just one he found. BTW dps isnt that bad either with combat roll and charging bull

Probably he could resist even with a 4* damage income even if he will gain very little from a 30% damage bonus

Obviously for a fast hitting rogue a 5* HB is a lot better damage bonus as are Chain Lightning ad Walking Bomb

The sentence is badly worded, as often happens; adding TAKEN near 300% damage would have made it more clear that's not a bonus
