As many others here, I have more than one playthrough, and more than one Inquisitor, each with their own race, class, personality and set of different choices.
So I was thinking this morning... let's pretend they were all at the Conclave (or nearby anyway), only one becomes the Herald / Inquisitor, but the others survive and join the Inquisition.
How would that turn out?

Here is how it would happen for me - WARNING: spoilers heavy.

Shaeris Lavellan: the Inquisitor. She is not even my canon playthroguh (I like happy endings), but in this parallel dimension it would make sense - the poor girl is prone to self-immolation for a greater cause. She really likes Solas. She fights with a bow and her main priority is to defend the weak and innocents.

Malika Cadash: a noble spirit despite coming from the Karta and being a Cadash. In fact, she is happy to leave her family and hopes to find redemption serving for the Inquisition. She is good friend with Blackwall, very happy when Thom gets pardoned (their pasts aren't that different), and settles with Josie when Cory is dead. As a sword and shield warrior, she would be the tank of the group.

Evelyn Trevelyan: former circle mage, Vivienne takes her under her wing as her apprentice. She believes in the Maker and joins the Inquisition because of her faith. As a kinght enchanter, she is both the mage and the second tank of the group. Currently retired somewhere with Cullen and their dog. She is my canon Inquisitor in the "other" dimension (happy endings!). She is friends with Dorian and Varric and doesn't like Solas much.

Kaaras Adaar: another archer for the party. He is the practical guy who wants things done quickly and efficiently, but at the same time is also a lot "softer" than Iron Bull. He was raised as far from the Qun as possible after all, so he looks like Qunari, but his beliefs and attitude are more similar to those of Varric, or of the average non-awful Kirkwall dweller. He loves Dorian deeply and every now and then, after the death of Cory, he does sneak out of Kirkwall (where he and the Valo-Kas support the City Guard) and visit his husband in Tevinter.

This party would ally with the Templars, ally with the remaining Grey Wardens (and sacrifice Loghain in the process), support Vivienne as the next divine, make sure that Leliana doesn't become a stabby murderer, get Celene to work with Briala and Gaspard, encourage Cassandra to found the Seekers again, get Cole to become a spirit because the Inquisitor is easily manipulated by Solas, and reveal the truth about Ameridan.

The Inquisition would not get disbanded, because that is the only thing left for Shaeris in the end.

So, an ACTUAL Inquisition, with several Inquisitors, maybe with one High Inquisitor at the head? Not a bad idea.

There can be only one.

All others die.

If you are a mage Trevelyan, your warrior and rogue siblings die. The carta dwarf dies. The Dalish representative dies. The vashoth mercenary dies.

Why does their need to only be one. The only reason it's done this way here is because it's a video game and video games run on this sort of power fantasy.

Here's the one I would do:

Vitellus Cadash (Bears the mark) - Wry and sarcastic, proud dwarf who believes in the Stone. Wants to escape from the droll and routine life of being muscle and smuggler, and takes this opportunity to leave. Greatly admires the templars since they keep Orzammar running, even if the nobles in the Diamond Quarter won't admit it. Comes to admire and love Cassandra, finds Leliana to be delightful company, and gets along well with Blackwall and Cullen.

Allaria Lavellan - Dalish huntress and scout who wants a life for her people. Follows the old elven gods, and gets along with Solas pretty well, but she thinks that he's focused too much in the past, and that it's not coming back. However, she thinks isolation is a mistake since all that did was invite suspicion. A bit brutish at first, but mellows out when she becomes attracted to Cullen.

Finnegan Trevelyan - High minded and political mage, devout Andrastian who believes that "serving" man means doing good deeds, regardless of how the templars feel about it. Very pro-mage, but pro-responsible mage, so he gets along well with Vivienne, as well as Josephine, since he shares a love of politics. He might have even joined the Lucrosian fraternity if there had been time.

It's a "Let's pretend they all survive" game.

And your Trevelyan isn't very different from my Trevelyan. Funny!

The High Inquisitor: Artemis Lavellan

The Lower Quiz's (Main Party is in Bold)

Female Mage Trevelyan (Anastia Trevelyan) - A once very lawful and dutiful Circle Mage, she joined the Inquiston out of a sense of need to help people and with the skill set to help people (she's a Sprit Healer), she grew into a hardworking and headstrong woman with a knack for Fire Magic and Anti Magic - she's not afraid to use her magic though, despite her intentional caution against using her magic. She romanced Cullen and ended up marrying the Templar.

Female Mage Lavellan (Aurora Lavellan) - She's the whimsical dreamy sister of Artemis Lavellan, but she wholehearily believes in the Elven gods - and doesn't seem to be questioning it. She's kind and happy, and seemed content with her life in with the Lavellan clan, until her brother decided to get a mark on his hand - and as a young sister and as someone who never leaves family behind, she decided to help him, with the Keeper's blessing of course. She romanced Solas.

Male Warrior Trevelyan (William Trevelyan) - He's the most dutiful dude ever in existence, as he was a Knight Captain in the Templar order before it all went to heck. He joined the Inquisiton with his fellow Templars once the High Quiz went to Therifall Redoubt and allied with the Templar Order. He's one of the few to resist the Red Lyrium and survive the assailant from the mutilated Red Templars. He was competitive for Cassandra's affection before the High Quiz told him off - he reluctantly romanced Josephine instead.

Female Rogue Cadash (Gwenieve Cadash) - She's a perfectly normal cliché of someone who didn't have a choice to do what she did in the Karta and ended up joining the Inquiston to find redemption for her past actions. She's kind of chaotic by nature, and doesn't exactly trust people at first, but she's a good teammate though. She romanced nobody, finding nobody of worth in the Inquisition - she did however have a crush on Varric for sometime before he denied her for Bianca...

I don't really have this for my Inquisitors. Only my Dalish Mages count. :P But I have done this "game" if you will, for my Wardens. Though it has been more of an outline for a fanfic that I've always wanted to write but never have.

Hmm, I'll play along... Though which of my 10 Inquisitors am I going to use? :U (I know ONE who I am definitely NOT going to use because she'd make sure Coryfifish would win because she's jealous of the mark)

The Inquisitor who gets the mark & the mage:

Nishmah Adaar: A Qunari mage mercenary who took up a job at the conclave, as she wanted to know more about the outcome (and whether she had to start hiding her magical abilities), she ends up with a green mark (totally clashing with her favourite colour; orange!). Knowing she's in a position of power, she strives to make people less judgemental of the qunari and the mages, hoping to spare any more unnecessary bloodshed in the mage - templar war and the inevitable qunari war to come. She's cheerful and motivated and enjoys silly jokes, endeared by little Sera, eventually marrying her.

The stabby mcstabstab rogue:

Mordecai Adaar: Nishmah's older brother (how else do I explain the same last name lol?) and a qunari dual wield rogue, who has a habit of trying to be... 'stealthy', while being a massive, horned giant. ("We can see your horns behind that tree, Mord..." "SHUSH! THOSE ARE JUST VERY SYMMETRICAL TWIGS!") Sarcastic, laid back and neutral, he joined to loyally support his sister (and because he was bored.... ok mostly because he was bored.). He gladly returns Dorian's flirts, eventually blooming into a full relationship. He leaves his sister's side to join Dorian back to Tevinter, acting as Dorian's unconventional bodyguard.

The tank warrior:

Dymphi Lavellan: A devout believer of the elven gods, she seemed to have no place with a religious organization like the Inquisition. Stumbled upon by Nishmah's squad while traversing Dalish lands, Dymphi was a bulwark they could not pass, despite her small physique. Recruited into the Inquisition in an attempt to forge an alliance with the elves, she turned out to be a kind, gentle and protective little elf, making sure that the Inquisitor did not get into harms way. She desires to become a 'safe haven' of sorts for Cullen, which eventually grows into a full fledged relationship - albeit remaining unmarried.

The snob:

Varystus Trevelyan: A two-handed sword warrior, trained to be a loyal Templar, sent to be a part of the Inquisition by his parents' will, he does not 'concern' himself with the 'petty desires' of 'peasants' and 'unworthy heretics', as he himself put it shortly after his recruitment. He's strong, tactical and a-ma-zing against anyone with magic abilities, but also cold and ruthless. He prefers to deal with the facts and the reality as is, taking great enjoyment in putting down mages and their whishy washy reality-breaking 'nonsense'. Despite being the odd one out in terms of character and opinions, he is an important counter balance to the Inquisition and while not friends with anyone, the Inquisitor appreciates his presence. Sometimes.

I'd have an odd team.

Adaar Adaar, male Qunari Mage who romances Iron Bull and allies with the mages because he thinks everyone should be free to choose thier own path in life, mage, qunari, chantry, templars, doesn't matter anyone should be able to be where and what they choose.

Lyn Trevellyan, a human mage who voted against rebellion. She romanced no one because, like Vivienne, restoring the circles was her priority.

Kadeth Lavellan an elven mage who thinks humans are total idiots so, conscripted the mages to get them caged like he thinks they need to be. He sees humans a lesser, dumber, pretty well nothing but foolish, destructive roaches so, any way to kill or cage them is good. He'd have an all elven Inquisition if he could and, Solas is a hero to him once he knows who Solas really is and what the plan is. He romanced Iron Bull because he couldn't have Solas or Sera and, Bull at least isn't a human.

Ayla Lavellan, Elven mage that allied with the mages and romanced Cullen. She knows some mages can be problems and, likes having Templars around for that reason but, she also thinks everyone, mage or not deserves the same freedom and respect she has always known. She thinks mages are not trained properly in the circle and are taught Chantry lies, so she's out to end that while keeping Templars because she knows some mages will have to be killed or made tranquil and, some may want tranquility. it should be an option but, circles are useless cages that make mages weaker and, don't teach them properly so, that has to change.

Oh gosh, they all survive? I feel sorry for corypheus and the rest of Thedas as the Lavellan cousins have now been unleashed upon the world. It all goes down in flames and booze.

To be honest, all of my Lavellans are siblings...

Hmmmm. I have six Inquisitors (so far!) but I'll go with the first four since they make a nice, balanced team in the field:

Kathlin Cadash is that one that ended up with the mark. Otherwise she would never have stayed with the Inquisition more than five minutes. Her initial reaction to her mission was 'you want me to lead who and go where to do what? You humans are all crazy!' Still, as time goes by she get attached to those she works with and sees the importance of their task. She doesn't believe in the Maker - or in much of anything else - but after Haven she realizes that if nobody is watching over these people, she's all they've got. She becomes especially close to Blackwall, although he eventually leaves to join the Wardens. Kathlin leads from the shadows, twin daggers at the ready, waiting to sever the spine of anyone who underestimates a dwarf.

Talan Adaar worked as a mercenary for many years, but he joins the Inquisition at the first available opportunity. As a qunari who has never known the Qun and a mage, he's felt out of place all his life. In the Inquisition he finally finds somewhere to truly belong - right next to Dorian. While he's gentle at heart, Talan wields deadly elemental magic, with a particular fondness for the manipulation of lightning. Eventually he learns to bend the power of the Rifts themselves to his will.

Eunice Trevelyan believes that the Inquisition is the will of the Maker (whatever the Herald has to say about it) and that she serves Him by joining. She's the warrior of the group, her shield always at the read to protect her companions. She always intended to join the Templar order, and the crisis doesn't dissuade her from completing her training and taking the lyrium. As a girl she imagined being a knight in shining armor and rescuing princesses, and while Josephine Montilyet isn't exactly a princess and doesn't require much rescuing, she's the girl of Eunice's dreams anyway.

Aderryn Lavellan came to help the Inquisition, but also to learn about the world outside her clan. A restless soul, she always longed for the opportunity to meet new people and read new books, and the Inquisition provides her with plenty of both. She's a powerful pyromancer, and her temper can be as hot as her spells, but she cools off just as quickly and wants to be friends with just about everyone. Fascinated by the Fade and spirits, she treads path of the Necromancer. Anyone who mentions Solas to her after their break-up is at serious risk of being set on fire.

These four would make an interesting group, with a lot of conflicting opinions. Kathlin and Aderryn are in favour of the mage rebellion, while Talan and Eunice are against it. (Aderryn would find Talan's views on this mystifying, but if he wasn't worried about being the only seven foot tall horned giant there, he'd probably have joined a Circle back when they still existed.) Eunice believes in the Maker and the Chantry, Talan believes in the Maker but isn't so keen on the church, and Aderryn is devoted to the Creators until she learns the truth about them. (Kathlin wishes they would all shut up and get on with fixing the sky.) That's without even getting into the arguments they'd have about what to do with the Wardens or who the Inquisition should support at the Winter Palace ...

Haha well, I've never been able to pick a canon Warden between my female human Noble, female human Mage and my modded Dalish Mage who's a Rogue in the Keep.

But if I really had to pick a team of Inquisitors, it would consist of three Dalish Mages all fighting over Solas and one female human Mage who points and laughs at the poor fools for all their angst because she does get to marry her LI, Cullen.
Though, if I did equate my Wardens in, she wouldn't exist and her place at the altar would've been taken by my Amell.

I might be okay with multiple player characters in the same game, but then they would logically have to replace some party members. Right now, I only have two Inquisitors, my main one who is a male rift mage Trevelyan, and one alternate who is a female necromancer Levellan who favors Falon'Din.

If the two were in the same game, meaning, if my Levellan survived the conclave somehow, then she would basically be an extra party member or else she would replace Dorian, or she'd just be some random elf mage walking around Skyhold.

It's the player character's survival, the mark, and the character's ability to call the shots when no one else can that makes the character the Inquisitor. Otherwise they're pretty much no one.
