I made a thread similar to this already but I wanted to bring it back. What new combat elements might you guys want to see for example, boosting into the air and crushing down on an enemy like in the trailer ( I feel like that and would be a soldier thing)maybe with a bit of biotics, or maybe executions? Maybe. How bout better fight scenes? Or action scenes? What action elements would you like to see?

I always wanted a heavy melee on a geth trooper where you grab it, pull apart part of the shell, and pull some wires out.

Maybe there will be a synthetic race with wires in them.

Or maybe he just wants Mass Effect Andromeda to not be a joke with gimmicky nonsense. Maybe he wants a proper sci-fi game that feels like it isn't just another shallow fanfiction vaguely based on Mass Effect and written by a loony.

well, I know what I don't want : horde of fast zombies running at me like crazy... those things, really... -_- at least I've got the "Bruiser" trophy on ME3 because of them XD

what I want : Honestly the jetpack seems fun but I hope we can really go higher with it, not just a little jump !

For that the game has to follow what was Mass Effect trilogy. To be a Mass Effect game.

Nothing is perfect but i am sure they can only improve, not the opposite.

To be fair, mono-molecular blades like the ones they used would be extremely effective and useful in close-quarters combat. Especially if it also vibrates.

And I don't think cloaking, which is advanced camouflage, needs its merit on the battlefield defended.

Cloaking is OK. It's actually a possibilty in the near future. But if the armour blocks those tiny "bullets" fired at hypervelocity speeds, it should be able to stop a metal stick going at speeds much, much, much more slowly.

That's the thing. Monomolecular blades are as the name suggests one molecule thick, meaning they are so sharp they can cut through armor because they can literally slip between the atoms that make that armor. And the kinetic barriers only work on objects moving very fast, so for example it doesn't send a chair flying in the wearer tries to sit down. So a monomolecular blade is able to surpass both kinds of defenses.

Combat elements...nah.
I'd rather have the option to negotiate the enemy into a mutually beneficial outcome.

I enjoyed the Halo 5 Guardians paratrooper mechanic. These guys drop to the ground from a high altitude shuttle in armour + jet pack, where the jet packs are used to steer while diving and slow them down before hitting terra firma.

1.- A human controlled AI script that allows the team to work together.

2.- Add the famous Vaguard Nova to all soldier / melee class.

3.- Add Lift Grenades / any grenade type to everyone

4.- Remove weapon class restrictions

5.- Geth-like drones for the Engineer class

6.- Seeker drones that actively hunt the enemy not just for defense. Provide air cover of a sort

7.- Set up defense turrets ability

8.- Portable Heavy Calibre machine guns

9.- helmet with hud and heat sensors (see behind walls) or Biotic ability to do the same

It can be done. Just need to increase the charisma skill to max bro. Anything in life is achievable if you want it bad enough.

I think I prefer the 'old-fashioned' drop pod, myself. It gives the whole thing more of a sense of occasion, doesn't require that we make Mass Effect armour full on super MJOLNIR power armour, and looks pretty cool from the inside, too:

To be clear, I wouldn't necessarily mind the addition of full-on SPARTAN super-soldier power armour, but it'd certainly be a significant change.

There really should be ways to resolve some conflicts peacefully. I enjoy the zero casualty outcome of Major Kyle in ME1.

Not necessarily.

And that's ignoring that once you construct something that is only an atom or molecule wide at the cutting surface, it is going to be fairly delicate.

Best bet for a "sword" would just be an ultradense penetrating weapon wielded by someone in power armor.  Of course a sledgehammer might work too.

Are we talking cutscenes or actual gameplay?

I'm not a fan of "rule of cool" cutscenes where characters do things they cannot do in regular gameplay. At worst, it can create a state of cognitive dissonance; at best, it's simply jarring and possibly a bit frustrating that your character cannot do those things in actual gameplay.

Actually they wouldn't. Melee strikes are still effective in the Mass Effect universe because Kinetic Shields only block objects moving faster than a certain speed like a bullet or gunfire. A rock, a punch, or a knife wouldn't be blocked, which is why punching people in dialogue scenes or in combat still works.

Not the kinetic barriers, the actual armour.

How about being able to maim or knock out an enemy instead of outright kill? 'Here...let me shoot half your leg off, now tell me what I want to know!'

Probably won't happen, but fun to think about!
