So, Shinobi said a bunch of things about Andromeda at the NeoGAF forums

Why does even Ashleighs armour look better than anything else in the actual game? And why couldn't I pull a gun on a Salarian to find Liara in THE UPSTAIRS STRIPPER SECTION OF FLUX. Where she's a stripper with critical mission Intel that could save a billion lives.

WTF HAPPENED TO THAT!?

Is it still available somewhere?

CAN I PLAY IT NOW!?

Did I miss something or is there something in that video that indicates that Asari is supposed to be Liara?

Spiritual successor to ME1... and then he talks about the stuff to do on planets.

That stuff sucks. Even when done well. Why is it something to be excited about? And since when did the Mako have tons of fans. That sucked too. Unless I lived in a hole and never played a game with a vehicle....ever.

I liked the big urban zones like the Citadel or ME2. And an established human element within it (the good and bad). And I liked the roleplaying/dialogue game. ME1 had some of this, but the premise for the new game doesn't seem to lend well to it. They keep talking about the landscape itself as the legacy of ME. For the third time, that **** sucked.

Thanks man, that's actually a lot of info considering what we had of late (that is, pretty much nothing). Cool info too.

Damn I want to travel in time to E3 already and see that damned gameplay once and for all. And then travel back in time, speak to myself and convince me to pick some other career different from programming for it's a pain in the d*ck. Oh, well.

To remind everyone of what is probably meant by that.

Man, look at that burning effect! it's actually quite good, and the particle effects are really nice, and the biotics look awesome too! Not much of that ended up in ME1 by the looks of things... Still, was a great game.

He might have been paid to say all those statements, in addition of commenting a partial version of a game. How can we know?

That's even more cynical than my rant. I thought he was sincere :P

ME1 styled music and planet exploration in a suped up mako. Sounds damn good so far. Looking forward to more info.

Thanks for posting that thread over here, felipe. Great way to start the weekend.

See the two main options

- If he's genuine, he's telling this game is a masterpiece succeeding to ME1, for the most meaningless reasons, and he's using that demonstration as a yardstick

- If he has got any interests in saying his opinions, his opinion is further flawed and thus less worthy of being considerated

However you look at these two, it's "free" ( ) advertising.

If it really is like a bigger, more polished version of ME1 then I'm 100% down(assuming the writing is on point). I still see ME1 as the highlight of the series, despite the clunky gameplay.

So, the million dollar question: How reliable is this Shinobi guy?

He's usually pretty reliable. This page (from 2014) lists some of the things he's said, a lot of which have been confirmed. For example he said that Guerilla Game's next game would be open world with robot dinosaurs and a red-headed female protagonist (all true) about a year before the game was shown at E3. Also said a couple of weeks ago that the next COD would be set in the far future and feature space combat.

Seconded, the universe felt so much smaller after the hub location and planetary exploration aspects were scaled back after ME1. Maybe I'm the only one, but I never fast travelled around the Citadel in ME1 and enjoyed driving to locations on planets, despite how poorly the Mako handled most of the time.

The sense of scale was absolutely lost in the sequels. Even the Citadel was reduced to small, dark boxes in ME2. There was no awe after ME1, just poorly lit rooms and corridors with waist-high crates.

In the beginning, I did take the long way round on the Citadel in ME1, but being thorough with even the smallest of side quests, my patience got pretty thin, especially with those gorram keepers.

ME3 made the sense of scale even worse, where the Citadel went from feeling like a huge space-station to about 5 or 6 semi-large rooms.

Combine that with Omega being gone until the DLC (and even then we can't visit it afterwards), no planetary exploration and the planet and space-based missions seeming far fewer than in ME2, it did make it a little hard to get a sense of the scope of the Reaper invasion.

Really, ME3 should have given us a several hubs at the start of the game... only to watch them fall one by one as the game progressed.

I'm somewhere in the middle. I didn't like the Keeper quest, but I did like bombing around in the Citadel. When it came to questing, I quick travel around. I have a tradition every time I play ME1 though. The first time I walk into the Citadel, I make sure to explore as much as possible. Travel points, character comments, ect. The last time I walk in there when I'm ready to talk to Anderson, I do the same tour on foot.

Speaking of squadmates, one of the little things that I loved about ME1 was getting the comments about the relay, the Krogan statue, the strip bar (Ashley's comment is priceless) and the Council chambers. Being able to click on squadmates knowing that they have a little bit of flavor dialogue was interactive and fun. I would hope to see something like that return. :)

I love that design decision much more than "starkid dream sequences" to give the atmosphere some dignity.

Yeah, rather than Shepard having recurring nightmares about a kid they met only once... how about scenes where Shepard grimly watches the final transmissions from a world we've previously visited, now burning as the Reapers descend upon it in force?

Doubtful. I believe they brought in animators, and the like, whose work with Uncharted 4 had been completed. The "idea work" is likely being handled mostly by long time ME people.

As much as people here like to cry about all of the "lost talent", there are still tons of writers on staff from the original trilogy, best I can tell. It's only natural that some will move on, get promoted, or the like, from time to time. It's the same with any job. Around here, though, departures are automatically perceived as a sign of BioWare's imminent collapse.

Yeah, I'm pretty pleased to see Shinibi commenting on the game in a meaningful way. He's probably the only person whose "leaks" I don't automatically assume to be bogus. While we can't treat his posts as developer announcements, he has proven reliable in terms of providing accurate insider info.

That being the case, this is pretty cool. It definitely helps to both whet the appetite and tide me over until E3.
