So, Shinobi said a bunch of things about Andromeda at the NeoGAF forums

I agree about this Shinobi guy.  Sounds to me like his job is to subtly begin the hype train.  Especially by making it seem like Naughty Dog was somehow involved when it was just one guy who quit the company to work for EA. I'm sure his info is correct so it is some sort of news.  But I'll take the hype sentences such as "Spiritual successor to ME1" with a grain of salt.

To be clear, he did clarified that he meant what he thought ME should've been, due to the not excellent execution of the exploration part in the game.

As for Liara. I never said she is the reason Thessia fell.  They were never there to save that planet.  I said she cracked during the mission causing Leng to gain the advantage.  But I agree that the Asari are to blame for their planet falling.

Note: Yeah it's a cutscene victory like most of Leng's victories.  But that doesn't negate what happened in the story.  We spent 90% of the mission listening to her whine about Thessia with both Shepard and the extra  Squadmate trying to keep her focused, then she's shown derping out while Leng knock her into the squadmate. Blaming the crappy cut scene alone is just metagaming. I also hate that Shepard derped out during the Thane fight.  Yes, the cut scene sucked and was stupid. It still doesn't change the fact that Shepard just stood there watching Thane fight and die.

Note #2( to those saying I hate Asari): I don't hate the Asari.  And Liara has grown on me over the years. I don't get why liking a character/species means they should be immune to criticism. But I'll stop talking about everybody's waifu.

The only part that I'll disagree with is the Liara was helpless during the fight.

I can see what he is getting at here though. I don't expect to change the world but you should be able to accomplish something. Pretty much everything you achieved throughout the game was ruined in the end, it was more bitter than sweet.

Agreed. I just didn't mind that things went that way. The idea that someone has the power to shape larger events just because he's very good at murder -- I think I'm lifting that phrase from In Exile -- never struck me as making much sense. Sometimes it will be true, sometimes it won't.

Err, I clearly said you can have choices backfire (like Iron Bull in Trespasser, that's great) or be ambiguous enough as to how good or bad they are to be open to interpretation (like Bhelen vs Harrowmount in DA:O).

We might be talking past each other here. The power fantasy I was referring to was being able to shape larger events; I wasn't talking about whether this could be done reliably or predictably.

What does that mean?

Digital distribution. If you're worried about getting some bits as soon as they're released, then having someone put those bits on a disc, put the disc in a box, put the box on a truck, and drive the truck to you isn't all that great an approach -- assuming you have decent broadband, of course,

I'm slowly moving to this model, but I'm kicking and screaming. I have a tough time shaking my desire for something to stick in a bookcase.

it's a no brainer if you game on a PC, obviously. But Bioware games still get boxes, so they can keep living next to each other on my Bioware shelf.

How did he make it seem like Naughty Dog was involved? He said they brought on talent from Naughty Dog, which they did. If people assumed that meant BioWare worked with Naughty Dog or had meetings with them or something, then that's a reading comprehension failure.

Sorry I'm missing something, how exactly did Liara cracking to hand Kai Leng the advantage?
The way it goes is that up until the cutscene she is generally behind cover spamming biotics (like the rest of the squad) until suddenly her and the other squadmate are right next to kai looking gormless.

Incidentally the Asari had no idea about the existence of vendetta, no-one did. This is another writing failure as the shep and Co speak as if they know what they will find.

Anyway, carry on.

um, disgrace? that's the exaggeration.

To be honest, Dragon Age 2 was in a league of its own. You either get it or you don't. I'm disappointed people didn't realize its quality and they'll never have that kind of quality writing again.

I'm pretty sure people "get it", the problem was the game was obviously rushed

I'm pretty sure I've never heard her voice. Good or bad thing?

Also Bianca and Dagna (DAI).

And was the "doctor" (Dr. Eva Coré)/AI who inhabited the body before EDI took it in ME3.

Bailey was inspired to go into acting after watching a making of Dawson's Creek special where they interviewed Katie Holmes.[8][9] She attended the theatre program at the Collin County Community College (Quad C) in Plano, Texas.[8] where she participated in productions of "Suburbia", "Through a Glass Onion", and "Don't Rock the Jukebox".[3]Kent Williams, who spotted her at one of the plays, invited her to audition for Funimation, who had been working on Dragon Ball Z.[10] Her most notable role on Dragon Ball Z was Kid Trunks,[10] which she portrayed with a raspy voice.[11]

Really? I thought she did a great job with Bianca and Dagna. Can't remember what Dr Permashoes sounded like.

EDIT: And she was great in Saint's Row! Female Voice 1 was totes the best.

Man, I want Laura Bailey for Ryder now.

Yup! Used Female Voice 1 for the full-run of both games, even with all the options available, just 'cause she was so good.

Duly noted and retracted, in that case.

Needless to say, I agree.

I find it awesome she used the same voice with Bianca, though feel moderately let down that fashion was never mentioned.

Laura Bailey was good as Lady Comstock in BioShock Infinite for me as well, no matter how brief her role was.

I loved her as Fetch in Infamous Second Son and First Light.

And the stuff she's done in anime is pretty great too.

Overall I think she's a good voice actress, fairly distinctive, but good.

Yah, she was great at voicing Lust in Fullmetal Alchemist too.  I didn't even realize that was her until she was speaking at a convention and people were asking her about it.  Actually, I believe they said, "Could you please do a come on line as Lust for my boyfriend?"  Err, wait....   What?

Sounds like ME:A is a Mako simulator with loads of boring filler content to entertain the easily amused. If there is one thing I hate more than anything in games it is boring filler content.  I truly hope this isn't the case.

After I mastered the Mako driving, now it's one of my favourite features of ME1

You got me - although I think I run with "awesome" at murder most of the time, because our typical Bioware RPG protagonist is on another level compared to most when it comes to mass murder. Shepard probably has hundreds of confirmed kills.

What makes it worse is that the scene is basically "Now that you've killed our enemies, please choose our fate."
