A reason for me not to play it through again would simply be that I found another game to play.

Yes of course that can be a good reason as well
.
I forgot to mention that in my OP.

I decided on 4 worlds before I began, so deliberately skipped stuff first time round so I could play it fresh next time.
I haven't yet collected any shards, recruited Cole, sided with the mages, had Morrigan with a kid, romanced anyone other than Bull or done the Exalted Plains, Empress du Lion, Crestwood and the Hissing Wastes.
I'll do all that in my second run with a mage IQ and a Cullen romance, which will be very different to my first pro-Templar anti-magic playthrough.
After that a Solas romance with a Dalish elf to see the game from an Elven perspective. She'll also be a b*tch so that'll be interesting, everyone's gonna hate her.
Then finally my canon world with a Cass romance and a sensible Qunari male.
After that any extra run will be purely for fun, to romance Sera and Dorian and just mess around really.
EDIT - I'll also deliberately skip zones each time so that each playthough isn't stupidly long, I'd bore myself to death if I did it all every time.
Yeah I think about this too much. ![]()

I've played through six times already. The handful of things that annoy me in the game (endless requisition quests, gathering shards) are completely optional and easily skipped, so nothing is putting me off so far. The reason I'm still not done is that I'm the kind of person who must play ALL THE ROMANCES. Still haven't romanced Cullen or Cassandra yet, so I'll to at least two more runs, probably before the end of the year. I also have a tradition of re-playing my first character before the new game comes out.
After that ... depends on how far away DA4 is. If it's not coming out until 2018 - and it seems likely that it will be at least that long - I'll probably play through the whole trilogy again in 2017. That would give me the chance to try all the specializations in DAI.

Well then you have quite a few playthroughs ahead of you i wish you a lot of fun playing those although i have to say that you want to play as a b*tch in one of your playthroughs i hope you have fun with that one for me that was not fun at all but maybe for you it will be.

I already resigned myself to 4 playthroughs, so once those 4 were done, I'd probably only replay on a whim.
The reason for playing it again, after the first time, would be because I already resolved to play it more than once, and totally with more than one character. I wanted to try out different classes, genders and romances. This dates back to my time playing Origins, and possibly Awakening.

You tried being a b*tch? Why didn't you like it?

For me not to play it again, the next game would have to be so horribly disappointing that the mere word Dragon Age fills my mouth with blood and bile.
Which I doubt will happen, but you never know. Of course I do take breaks and play other stuff as well, but eventually I always come back.
I also don't do "final playthroughs" . I bought the game, I'll enjoy it as much as I like and if you don't like that you can go...*shakes fist*. Anyways if the game is fun, I replay it, if it's dull I put it aside and maybe try again at a later date.
As for replaying, just because would be the reason. I adore the character creator and creating and tinkering with new backstories and characters. Especially after the confinement of Hawke. Bleh. And I just like playing the game, the areas are pretty, I find the combat enjoyable and the characters are fun. It's just such a good game to drop in and let my mind wander for a few hours.

I would play DAI another time to try to find the Maker since i failed in all the DA games..
I found plenty of false gods and plenty of self-proclaimed god-mages but no Maker

I did not even finish the game with her i think i played 60 maybe 70% before i deleted her i just did not like that a few of your companions will leave while being a b*tch so that was my main reason.
And there are more reasons one of them would be that i didn't want to play as Vivienne.

Yeah that would likely be my reason too the fact there is something else I'd rather play. Not the case for me right now as I enjoy Bioware's games too much these days for me to put them down for long.

Reason to play again - I can change one detail and see what that does or, just because I can.
Reason not to play - DA4 is released and, I am playing that instead because new DA stuff to discover.

Reason to: Desire to play an alternate character, either a new Inquisitor or a non-canon character like one of my Heroes of Ferelden, or as I am playing now, a young Cassandra.
I think a good aspect of Inquisition is that you can skip most of the maps and just to the main storyline within a day or two.

Yes, this. Or if I just got bored with it, or something. I suppose a game breaking bug might make me stop playing.
As it is, as many hundreds of hours as I've sunk into the game, I've only done three full playthroughs. I've started several more, but I get distracted by modding and such and eventually abandon it, only to repeat the cycle later on.

I'm always more reluctant to replay open world or semi-open world games, particularly quickly, than I am to replay those that aren't. It's a much larger time investment, and I don't have as much time for gaming as I would like these days; plus, inevitably, a large portion of that time is spent essentially with filler that I have no particular desire to encounter again. If I do replay it, I'll probably skip most of the exploration, unless I wind up with a character who just wouldn't do that.
The main reason I think I won't be replaying Inquisition any time soon is the combat/general game mechanics, ultimately. I'm just not fond of them. My initial impression was that combat was better than it was in DA II, but I quickly ended up changing my mind about that. It manages to combine just about everything that potentially annoys me about CRPG combat into one package, and there's only so much of that I want to put up with. It's particularly unfortunate since I really enjoy combat when it's done in a fashion that I like, but it's an aggravating slog in DA:I and reminds me of nothing more than MMORPG combat... which I usually dislike. If the tactical camera wasn't so messed up, I could probably play with that and be happier (since that eliminates some of my biggest pet peaves about the combat), but it's a mess, so it doesn't really help. I ended up setting it down to casual just so I could get through the combat faster, and I've honestly never done that in any game before.
If I do end up replaying it again, it would be because there actually were a lot of good roleplaying opportunities and decisions in the game, and I think it would be interesting to replay it with a character from a very different background with different goals from the character I played it with. Maybe a dwarf, or a mage of some sort. With the two voices, I would probably be able to do another playthrough or two on that basis, so that's good.
Now, if some sort of mod or patch or whatnot were to come out that would fix all or most of my complaints with the combat and/or game mechanics, I'd happily replay it. I'm not expecting that to happen, though, so I'm not expecting to replay it for a long time if ever. It seems as though DA:O will remain the only game in the series that I enjoy replaying, albeit DA II and DA:I for extremely different reasons (DA II due to the lack of roleplaying opportunities, only one voice, no real decisions to be made, and so forth; DA:I due to the incredibly annoying combat and no real variation in character build). I continue to find this rather sad, because DA:O was hands-down my favourite post-Infinity Engine/3d game, especially in terms of gameplay, and I really wish I could enjoy DA II and DA:I anywhere near as much.
Anyhow, for now, I've got a replay of Icewind Dale II on the back burner, and I've yet to finish Pillars of Eternity... and both of those games are an incredibly large amount more my thing in terms of gameplay.

I've played it through around 7ish times more or less. Nothing really stops me from playing it other than playing something else, or y'know.. work. I could also try some of that famous "friendship"

I find it much more difficult to replay the game due to the sheer size of it. It's much harder to do quick playthroughs like in the previous games since the previous games had a lot of side content but also didn't have everything so sparingly spread out and placed. The reason for replaying it after the second time is mainly for the romances since there's not much variety in the things you can do besides the main decisions in the game.
