This is pretty much why I don't use it. The visual effect of it doesn't bother me, I don't even notice it during general play (aside from the obvious red enemies) but I spend far to long standing there trying to figure out were the objectives are. With geth, I actually shut off HM at the beginning of objective waves and whenever a target/device is finished.

Krogan Rage though, while it doesn't bother me, messes up my vision somehow. I keep running into the edges of doorways, cover, etc. And that's when I'm not on HazWhite!

well, don't know if this is a good tipp, but for me it works: the objective markers always are on the same place - on the left or right. so I turn around a bit and just focus on these 2 spots. pretty easy to find them then

That's due to that your hardware is a bit to old for running it properly, on a decent PC you will never have that problem.

I'm addicted to the GC for soloing, I never use it for team games though.

In the beginning I didn't like it, but I got used to it, these days I don't even notice the graphic overlay at all.

Just unlocked the Geth Scanner. Used it for a 30 minute Bronze game. I was able to basically ignore the pattern by about halfway through the game. Now my eyes hurt. I think I would find long term use obnoxious and uncomfortable. I can definately see the appeal though. "Ooo look. 3 Geth sneaking up on me just there."

Geth Scanner V will be much better.

not only does it protect you, it also shows you where the enemies are so YOU can find them faster and make the right decisions, for example when to use a combo rather than an individual attack or when you even should use a missile in order to make the game faster.

when using the Geth Scanner my games are faster, more safe and... I get a higher score, hehe

not even 35% additive damage bonuses could outweigh the advantages of a Geth Scanner

but I am almost "sober" now - I have stopped using it almost completely. games feel more pure now, sometimes very frustrating though.

^ I gave into the dark side long ago. If not an HM kit, then either Geth Scanner or Grenade Capacity.

 

If I ever got that bug where I could have both equipped at the same time, then I would never log off. Frame rate loss be damned, you know what a DV or QMI could do with that combo!?!?

It's pretty easy to do the double equip bug but the circumstances have to be right, when you get to a lobby after a game, switch gear, then if the host leaves, you should have both, you can then add two out of three of armor amp/weapon amp/ammo. Never done it on purpose but had it happen to me a few times.

When in doubt: Geth Scanner V.  The only times I do not use it, is when I go grenadespamming with GrenCap V - like some guys up there have confessed, too.    wohoo I*m not alone

 

For those having problems/feeling odd after just starting to use it, this may be consoling: in the beginning the lines makes it look weird for a few days, but after a few days, won't pay much attention to the lines anymore. (I play on PS3). I found help in focusing in the centre of the screen to help sort of fade out the overlay. I've used it so much I don't even notice the lines anymore,

 

Due to my cornea degeneration sh*t, it's generally the 1 item I must have on anyway.  Tried playing my worst vision combo, vs Cerbs on Condor a few times without it - never again. My eyes hurt without it.

 

The above cräp also stops me from using marksman, and Krogan rage is no picnic, either - but always sort of consoling that it blinds even players with normal vision to the point that it makes people personally KroganRage at the effects. Some game designers deserve to be dragged behind the sauna and shot in the back of the neck (old Finnish proverb), for thinking this was an awesome overlay idea. /rant

I use geth scanner all day everyday. I use it on just about every kit except the demolisher and geth kits. I have yet to try geth vision on pc though. After all this time finally have a rig that will run most things with 4k textures.

Just wanted to say that when I thought I had gotten over it, I played a couple matches with the GE and GI and....   .

 

I'll also add that my new current default gear is Responder Loadout (Shield regen and 3 extra gels)  for rage-gelling purposes because it helps fighting lag .

I must say I've become addicted to both. I'm a scrub and noob so I've just basically been slapping any weapon on the GI for OP cheese. Hurricane GI is so OP I stayed within 50k of Xan the other day. I was late to the whole GI thing. Geth scanner on most any other kit, when I don't use I'm like WTF is wrong with my screen.
