There was a thread over in the nwn1 forums on post process injection of video shaders and using newer versions of directX.

To test whether post processing works with nwn2, I checked out a post processor for Skyrim (this one: http://www.nexusmods...yrim/mods/131/?), and followed the links to the original code (https://www.assembla...nject/documents).

I downloaded the code and ran it on nwn2 and took some screenshots. I cranked up some settings as I was just testing if the code visibly did anything with nwn2. As you can see there is a visible difference (looking better wasn't the point, just checking whether it did anything).

I used to use one of those for Morrowind (the ENB series) to raise the ambient light so I could see.

The specularity seems a bit stronger. I'm not sure whether that is an improvement or not.

The only visible notice when using this is the loading screens can flicker a bit. Framerate does not seem to be affected, but I have a computer much above "recommended specs".

I just kind of cranked some things up randomly in order to see if it would visibly work or not. The fx program allows adjustment of those sorts of things, so you could adjust to get a look you wanted.

Yes, your test shows that post processing works in NWN2, as intended.  It's just coincidental that it happens to boost the contrast to levels that some people tout as improvements, when you're not claiming improvement here (rightly, in my opinion).

One last shot, the same Samarach opening with the addition of a sepia effect maxed out with the color "bistre" (soot brown).sepia_fx.jpg
