But you already have god mode in 2 and 3, it's called the Soldier class. Best health, strongest shields. highest weight capacity. Best range of powers (ammo became a power). There is no situation that the Soldier is not suited for.

Soldier doesn't have any more health or shields than the other classes in ME3.  Also has the same exact starting weight capacity (75).  The only difference is potential weight capacity bonus.  The problem is that Soldier's passive is arranged such that it is counter productive to take half (50) of the bonus since it is opposed to Weapon Master.  For every single other class, the last weight capacity is opposed to a relatively useless evolution.  Practically speaking Vanguard, Infiltrator, and Sentinel end up with more capacity bonus than Soldier (70), and Adepts and Engineers end up with the same (50).  Nevermind that Vanguard and Sentinel get more damage reduction (50%) from their skills.  Infiltrator gets the least balanced vanilla power in the game (Tac Cloak).

In ME2 Soldier does have ok health bonuses, and gets a storm speed bonus (which is non-trivial).  The mechanics of the class are relatively straightforward, but Sentinel is much closer to a very loose definition of "god mode" here.

EA Play happened with a new ME:A trailer released... and the piranha have been waiting to pounce on new info or some time now.

As for ME3, I'm with Tony... best to form your own opinion.  For what's it's worth - Your posts seem to suggest that you're not really enjoying ME1 and started this thread with a statement that basically said you regretted buying it, so I'd assess carefully for yourself whether or not you want to continue on.  The combat does change significantly in ME2 and again a bit less significantly in ME3... but it is still very much a combat-based RPG throughout.  ME3 does introduce a story mode, but I've personally never played it so I don't know exactly how it was implemented.  Personally, I like all three games equally (endings included).  None of them are perfect... but nothing is in this life anyways.  All of them are, IMO, fun for me to play.

Well sorry to say this but then you read my posts wrong no i still have fun playing ME 1. And as you said it yourself "none of them are perfect" well ME 1 is not perfect either. But that doesn't mean that i do not enjoy playing the game.

There is god mode in ME1.  It's called master immunity with Colossus X Medium or Heavy armor.  Throw on a couple of medical exoskeleton X, and about the only way you'll die is to get stun locked.

I see so no actual godmode then  :(

Not to sound like a salesman, but ME3 MP is fast paced and fun as can be - and there are still lots of people playing it (at least on PC).  I play the hell out of it when I get that itch.

Well, I'm glad it was just that I was misunderstanding your original posts and others and that you are in fact enjoying your ME1 playthrough.  By all means then, I recommend continuing on and playing the rest of the Trilogy through.  As I just posted on another thread... the story is a thought provoking, controversial tragedy for the most part... brace yourself for that and a bit of an over-contrived ending... and you should really enjoy it.

I started ME with a Sentinel, and off the bat was unable to play it even on the casual difficulty, it just died every step. I've never played an FPS before, so I rerolled a Soldier which was suggested as the best beginner class. Everything is fine for now, I am slowly making my way through ME. I got a suggestion that I should continue through the Trilogy with the same character because the decisions are preserved.

I do not aim to replay the game, and would like to finish the trilogy before the Andromeda release. Eventually, i'd like to up the difficulty setting to normal, once I get used to controls and re-keybind the skills I find myself using.

Will the Soldier be okay to get through all 3 games?
