I just started this game I've been trying to research this topic, but can't find anything that answers my question specifically.

 

I chose the kiss option when my character and Solas were in the Fade, then went and spoke with him. I had the option of "I'll risk it," which I think initiates the romance? However, I left the conversation without choosing either. DIdn't mean to do that, but now I don't have any romance options in the dialogs.

 

I've seen people mention that Blackwall locks you out of a relationship with Solas. However, I "ended it" with Blackwall before anything began and am at a loss now.

 

I was suspicious Sera was also the problem, and I even kicked her out of the Inquisition just to see. Still, no romance dialog options.

 

Have I managed to screw up the Solas romance possibility?

If you kissed Solas in the Fade then you should be fine. I don't think just flirting with Blackwall would end it at that point, especially if you shut him down. A quick way to check is to go try to flirt with Cullen. If, when you ask to spend time alone, he says he thinks you're interested in someone else (I think he may even specify Solas, but I can't remember) then you are currently on another romance path. In this case, Solas' most likely b/c of the kiss.

 

There is no regular flirt option for Solas' conversation wheel in the rotunda like there is for the other LIs in their spots. To see more romance, you have to get his approval up.

 

The next actual romance dialogue is a flirt option with him after he returns to Skyhold after his personal quest "All New, Faded for Her". Have you gotten that quest yet? If so, did you have that flirt option with him in that final conversation back at Skyhold?

 

If you are past that quest and you don't remember if the flirt was there, you will *definitely* be able to tell when he talks to you on the balcony. If he doesn't bring up "Not having forgotten the kiss" then you're locked out.

Just to confirm what the other poster has said.   You don't get flirt options for Solas in between the major romance scenes like you do with other characters.   So no opportunity for a quick kiss after returning to Skyhold following on from a quest.     You also do have to get your approval up with him for it to move on to the next stage, which is after "All New Faded for Her".    Go and ask him about his experiences in the Fade, as that will always improve your approval.    With any luck if you keep on letting him talk about himself, then you will improve your standing enough to trigger his personal quest.    Otherwise you will have to rely on him approving of judgements you make or your actions if you take him with you on certain quests.
