Add those destructible environments people keep talking about and let me make Ryder-shaped holes in walls with Charge.
Being able to further spec into some kind of ridiculously powerful biotic punch would be fun, too.

Being able to SCHWOOM backwards would be helpful after you've SCHWOOM-ed forwards to deal damage. I can't tell you how many times I've been overconfident in a kill and found myself in a bad way after I've SCHWOOM-ed as a Vanguard.

They basically had unlimited power in ME3 and it broke the game, so no. But I agree with shockwave, they should bring back ME2 version of it.

Charge, nova and annihilation field on a Krogan warlord. Nuff said!

Screw shockwave. More biotic fists of death attacks! Charge-Nova-punch-charge gleeeeee. If you're not up close punching a face off, you're not vanguarding enough. MAYBE use your shotgun. Leave the ranged stuff to lesser classes.
I'm joking. Mostly.

But that's against the whole point of the Vanguard class. It's high damage but carries a heavy risk. In ME2, anyway.

Vanguard wasn't really high damage. Things like tactical cloak, hunter mode, marksman, adrenaline rush, devastator mode, annihilation field, inferno grenades and incendiary ammo, snap freeze combos, cluster grenade combos etc were high damage.
It had great survivability though. Being able to constantly restore your shields and zip around the battlefield was awesome.

Biotic Charge should have it's name officially changed to SCHWOOM (caps lock mandatory).

Biotic Charge, Annihilation Field, Cluster Grenade, Turian Passive, Krogan Fitness.
I'll take on the entire Reaper army if you give me that in a single kit.

Wider shockwave.
Flamer.
Biotic axe.
If Vanguards have jetpacks I would like to Nova/Biotic charge while elevated.
A new melee attack looking like a combination of opening Javiks pod and Aethyta flying that Volus on LOTSB.
Edit: Forgot biotic combo melee attacks.
For the Biotic god!

I'd gladly get rid of ME2 and 3's versions of shockwave to bring back ME1's throw. Tossing an entire group of people flying into a wall is the best.

. Why not make shockwave send multiple enemies flying and dealing Massive damage like biotic slash. That would be my ideal shockwave. It's supposed to be a SHOCKWAVE.I'd gladly get rid of ME2 and 3's versions of shockwave to bring back ME1's throw. Tossing an entire group of people flying into a wall is the best.

I always liked using shockwave in ME2. Use it and then take out the enemies before they can stand back up, I remember when I had Jack with me during missions she'd use it constantly against foes.

1. A kind of changed Biotic Charge: changed pretty much the way Tali Vasir had it in the ME2: Lair of the Shadow Broker. I.e. extremely fast movement across the battlefield with or without targeting an enemy, in any direction. Like if you want to target someone - good, it will be good ol' Biotic Charge from ME3, with the only button needed to be pressed. If you don't target anything - two buttons are needed: direction button (one of the WSAD) + number button, to which the BC is bound (I speak in the PC terminology, thus - consolliers, turn on your imagination). 3D movement (i.e. moving upwards/downwards) can be easily enabled by, say, clicking the LMB on the point you want to land, holding the LMB + pressing the BC button. Such a charge MUST be accompanied by a decent shockwave, afftcting the targets, say, 3 meters left and right from the trajectory (like current Poison Strike, just with sending the targets fly (lesser ones) or staggering them (bigger ones) instead of poisoning).
2. Heavy armor suit (i.e. being an armored target) as an option at least. You read right - armor + barriers.
3. Some ability for gaining the extra protection - be it Barrier, or Biotic Protector (that Nyreen's or Cerberus Phantoms' "lila bulb"), or Biotic Focus,
4. Some option for range combat - like Phase Disruptor, or good ol' Warp, or Biotic Orbs, or Dark Channel, or/and grenades - lift or warp ones.
5. Powerful and rapid-fire shotguns - at least semi-auto ones, preferably with burst-fire or even full auto option (current Doom one, AA-12, Russian Saiga/Vepr are fairly good examples).
