I completed ME1. I even saw part of the end credits at the end of ME1.

When I click Import character in ME2, it save ME1 save game not found. Run configurator ....

What does it mean?

What system are you on?

On consoles (Xbox and Playstation), the import utility should find the game files automatically. For PC I think you have to move the game file(s) to a specific folder. I play on Xbox so I cannot help you further if you are on PC.

My bet is they are on PC and you have to run  the config utility.

Yes, I play on a PC. Where is the config utility?

You could have just solved this with a 2 second google search, but here you go anyway:

Go to whatever drive Mass Effect 2 is installed on, then ProgramFiles>OriginGames>MassEffect2>Binaries> and in there is the MassEffect2Config (.exe) Launch it, go to save games, and copy your Mass Effect 1 save.

If you bought ME2 on Steam, it's Progam Files>Steam>SteamApps>Common>MassEffect2>Binaries> whatever, same thing.

Yeah. That's it. You're welcome.

yeah there is a config utility and link it to ME1 manually. I had the same trouble at first figuring it all out when I first played the games too. Fortunately me3 does this automatically by itself but unfortunately with ME2 you have to do it. Alternatively just click the configure button on the disc bootup menu that's another way to access it.
