Seriously, though, yeah, the turnaround on employees hasn't had me running scared. We're more aware of these things nowadays, but that doesn't make them inherently bad. Sometimes people aren't staying onboard from development to release. Some people move on because of other opportunities. Some were temporarily contracted from the beginning and their contract ran out, choosing not to re-up for their own reasons. It's not the end of the world.

 

I'm more inclined to judge by the final product than the hiccups along the way.

There are many factors that cause project delays. Staff erosion and staff replacement being two. The former means that the same planned project man hours remain the same but are done by fewer personnel = longer to complete. The latter is similar but less drastic. Similar because the replacement(s) have to go through a learning curve before they can be productive.

 

As you say, gamers will judge the final product.
