Does Rich Hilleman's departure from EA means more quality in ME:A?

In case you missed it, Rich Hilleman is now exEA:

http://venturebeat.c...es-the-company/

Who is he? Apart from being Chief Creative Director, this a few years old article describes him more accurately:

http://www.p4rgaming...han-90-seconds/

Read it and weep about his ideas on pushing telemetry and dismissing player concerns over bad or poorly-made games. He was strongly on shorter, mobile games, saying that we gamers apparently have no attention spans. PC and console gamers are going to become extinct - his own words. (Note: a part of these lines is taken from Sims forums)

I honestly hope, with such person out, ME:A will get even more love. I hope there won't be ME phone garbage on the way. And I hope the game will be so good it'll be remembered as one of top10 games of the decade.

Both the game and us, fans, deserve it.

It's probably not going to have any noticeable effect.

Like I pointed out in the other thread we have going about people leaving: People leave companies all the time, especially in the development industry. We rarely ever notice any actual change that can be directly linked back to any one person leaving.

Departure doesn't mean much. The person likely did his or her work and went somewhere else they're needed. This was clarified in the Shinobi thread. Andromeda story is already written, it already has gameplay even. So what is the writer suppose to do when the script is written? Wait a 3 months to a year, till needed to write DLC? Or just go to another project until needed.

Play4Real Gaming is a satire website, like The Onion. That article isn't real.

Hahaha ! I just quote this sentence because it made me laugh.

Proud console gamer here for +25 years now, I'm still not extinct.

Edit : @cronodragoon : never heard about this site before, good to know, thanks !

Is it bad that I could still see some suit in the industry making such statements, though?

Obviously nowhere close to how it's stated in the article, but the general sentiment, backed by sales, is indeed that mobile is taking over and the console market is shrinking. Similarly, I remember the Square Enix CEO (I don't believe it's the current one) saying awhile back that single-player games were a freak invention and that multiplayer is the natural state of gaming. People were not happy about that.

Having read that article, I think he was trolling the rest of EA and the gaming community in general, just to see what would happen.

To me he sounds like that senile bedwetter who was trying to enforce SOPA on the entire planet without actually knowing what the internet is.

No love lost there. However, this can easily become the  Devil you know vs the Devil you don't know.
