I immediately get an error after choosing "Play" from the starting screen:

This application has failed to start because d3dx10_39.dll was not found.
Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

I have Microsoft® Windows Vista™ Home Premium and an NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT with the latest drivers (196.21).

There does not seem to be a search function in the forums so I can't see if anyone else has reported this problem.

Do I really need to try to reinstall ME2? Has anyone reported this problem?

I gpt the same problem, and the funny thing is that when you installed the game, you can't reach the directx install anylonger, so you have to get it some other way.

Just talked to support and they tell me that the reason this isnt working is that the games not officially released till tomorrow.. so the servers arent registering the game..???? so apparently wait till midnight and click it should all work..

is this not a little Bizarre or is that just me..?? UK user VISTA PC......same problem as above..

Right at the very end of the install, the setup is looking at your current Direct3D install, to determine if Dx9 is needed (you need Dx9 whether or not you have Vista ? Windows 7, and their Dx10 / Dx11 versions).  When it looked at my system, it didn't find a particularly new Dx9 version, and told me it wanted to install Dx9 at that point, so I let it do so.

There isn't a copy of Dx10 (or Dx11) on the game disk.  You need a current Direct3D update from Microsoft (Dx10 if you have Vista, Dx11 for .Windiows 7.
