Lol,
I bought DA:I when it was released...
Played 3 hours of it and never touched it again.
Has DA ever been as good as ME? Nope.
So, it's not much of a measuring stick then.
DAO is better (in my opinion) that every ME game released so far.
In the end though it's all subjective. Some people prefer DA. Others prefer ME. The two series are different enough, and not only for the setting.
All I have really heard about this game so far is that there will be big worlds to explore with the new Mako. But if Dragon Age Inquisition is any indicator I say so what? Bioware at this point dose not know how to make big open areas any fun. Now don't get me wrong. I hope that this game is great and I love everything about it. But I REALLY hope the main story plays out like the original Trilogy with missions and set piece locations not having to run around huge planets and do a bunch of random junk to unlock the next story portion of the game...
And I loved inquisition and hope ME:A is more like it than ME2. So fraking what? People have different subjective tastes. If Bioware is moving in a direction you don't like then don't buy their games. I use to be a Blizzard fan but i no longer like their games, I even believe they still make good games just games I don't like. I don't feel the need to vent on the blizzard forums nor do I have this need for validation by other gamers that my subjective choice is right. Subjective choices can never be right not wrong for that matter, they just are. Bioware has always been a company that changes the way they make games and they likely always will, for some gamers this will mean they will move away from the direction you want them too.
So 'man' up and vote with your wallet. You don't need people to hold your hand be an adult and stop buying bioware games if you don't like them and please stop with the 'woe is me posts please support me in this bleak time of Bioware games.' Wait to see if ME:A is your cup of tea if it is great buy it, if it isn't great don't buy it and use that cash to buy a game you do like. win win.

Yep.
Even worse if you also enjoy multiplayer and was looking forward to DAMP. 3 maps too! 4 as of right now.
I am interested in Andromeda and I will definitely be following it and seeing how it is received by the people on this site. (At least the ones who are objective and won't think its the second coming because it says "Bioware" on the box) All of the drama that happened with DA: I certainly changed me when it comes to this dev, but I will probably pick it up at some point or another.
I just hope Bioware has learned that SP is all drama. Just put something out and focus on the MP.
Lol,

I tried and tried and tried to FORCE myself to beat it just once. I made it all the way until I had Morrigan at my castle. I think that was far enough...or at least as far as was humanly possible. I can't tell you much about the story, but at least I know what all of the characters I met feelings about penis were. Thank God for that.
Now I am primarily a MP gamer, but I have played many SP games. Elder Scrolls, GTA, Red Dead, Last of Us (one of my favorite games ever) Prototype and on and on and on. DA: I is the only game I have never been able to even force myself to complete at least once. I have played the heck out of all other Mass Effect and Dragon Age titles....even beat DA 2 a few times.
Why do people ever force themselves to play games?
I can understand it if the player invested in the story but not the gameplay. There's actually a solution though, Games The Movie, but it doesn't work as well for RPG with choices.
RPG in particular also might require an hour or so of gameplay before the player has unlocked enough abilities and party members to make the combat engaging. Not to mention that initial exposition dump that might be a bit overwhelming until later conversations (looking at you Pillars of Eternity).

I think in some cases it's....I pre ordered this game and paid full price and I don't want to admit I am an idiot and I wasted my money. Also I'm sure there is some disbelief in there along with "It HAS to get better than this....." Mostly just denial of what is happening when you first start playing...of course eventually reality sets in and you accept it.
I would have been ok after that and chalked it up to "You can't win em all." Then I saw how old gen fans were treated and that was that.
So many games on the market. Must be something out there you like.
I like the DAI concept and liked ME games more. So I await with pleasure the next ME game.
I buy DA:I and play until the end... Now I hate this game... I should never have bought it, with a lot of bugs and plastic hair (worst char creator than a lot of games)
But I learned. Now I expect the game to be released, read some reviews, it appear a great game, download an unofficial version and please me, buy original. It is an alternative not to put my money in the trash after the incredible disappointment that was DA: I for me.Sorry Bioware/EA.
This is what happened to me with ME3. Preordered because I enjoyed 1 and 2. Was very disappointed with many things they did in Me3 and would not have purchased it if I had waited. So I learned that lesson and it was a sad lesson.
DAI, I waited till I had more information and I decided I'd enjoy it. I do enjoy it. i don't feel like I waisted my money and it will pull me back when I have a dry spell. So it's a good plan and I will follow it for MEA.
I have low tolerance of DA myself especially Origins and Inquisition, the gameplay it's really horrible @ least DA 2 is enjoyable.I never liked dragon age no matter how hard I forced myself to play it so I'm glad it was the first to use frostbite. Hopefully they'll iron out the kinks for mass effect andromeda.
Why do people ever force themselves to play games?
I don't understand it either.
I've purchased a few games, not many but a few that sounded interesting but they turned out to be games I did not care about so I took them to game stop, sold them and tried something else. i'd rather replay a game I love than force myself to play a game I'm not interested in.
Play The Witcher 3 instead.
No thank you.
This is one of those games I've heard about, I've checked out and it has nothing that interest me. So I passed on it and while it might be a good choice for some, they should do their research first and then buy it or not.

The only one I've done it with was The Witcher. The Witcher 3 actually looked pretty great, and I have a thing about starting in the middle of a series where I can't do it. I owned it already no thanks to Steam. Plus, it never hurts to have an informed opinion.
I had to cheat to make it bearable, because you can't even play that game for the story, and it still took me nearly two months to get through it. If I had to do it over, I'd skip it.
No thank you.

Pity, at least you played it. That's how you determine if a game suits your tastes.
That's usually what I do to decide whether or not I like a game. Sure I can read critic reviews and impressions, watch gameplay videos, and etc, but actually playing it gives me the best idea of whether or not I want to stick to it. I remember feeling worried about whether or not I would like the Witcher, but as I played more I grew more addicted to it and easily consider it my favorite game from last year.
DA2 & ME3 did a hell of a lot more to discourage me on future Bioware games, but DAI turned it around for me.
I don't have any current hype for MEA yet and it's likely I'll buy it without having any kid on Christmas morning feelings for it.

No, I didn't play it. I knew from everything I read and heard from other people that I wouldn't enjoy it.
I have bought and tried other games that I did not research and regretted buying them.
I tried 2 of the Assassins creed games and didn't like either of them, tried a couple of the Laura Croft games didn't finish them. Lots of reasons, all my own, but I have found there are a few people I can get a good idea about how much I'll enjoy it. Witcher just isn't in my interest zone.
And after this "commentary", I will admit that I have pre-ordered Horizon Zero Dawn because it looked interesting and I will hope for the best. ![]()

I had a similar experience: I had no real idea WTF was going on, was bored silly... kept putting the game away and not playing it at all for long stretches, etc.
But then I tore my ACL playing basketball, and the long slog of DAI suited my ass-on-couch post surgery situation quite well, so I did wind up beating it. It was still freaking boring as hell though.
Bioware never did fix the combat animations for the Qunari in DA:I. That game was even worse than DA 2, which is quite an achievement.

Right, it shouldn't be surprising if there is a Mass Effect camp and Dragon Age camp with some overlap in the middle. You go back to the first product in each line, and they really aren't very closely related, save the very broad "rpg" tag. Mass Effect is third person shooter, and DAO is more like a pure rpg.
The two franchises have been borrowing things from each other along the way, but it is hard for me to tell if they have diverged or converged (ignoring that I never even played DA2). Mass Effect moved away from some of the more "mundane" rpg elements, but DAI is less complex in many ways than DAO. Alternatively, some might think Hawke or the Inquisitor were meant to give DA a protagonist more in line with Shepard and away from the unvoiced, nebulous Warden.

lol what?
So I don't like the direction they are taking their games. But by your logic I should not talk about it. Especially not on a message board specifically to talk about it. Did I ever say in my post that I am 100% right and you have to agree with me? No I simply said how I feel about things and then you know other people brought their opinions to the thread. As you know as a discussion tends to do.
I mean honestly by your logic what would even be on a message board? Just facts and figures I guess...
