I, for one, think Bioware does an excellent job at representation, even though the LGBT group is 1% of the global population. But they are very loud when voicing their representation and concerns. But apparently, what Bioware has done isn't good enough.....

Ikr, they must be one of the most inclusive companies when it comes to character representation.  You'd think that'd be commended, but instead it's not enough.

Personally I don't need absolute clarity about the role of women in one particular part of the Qun to be able to enjoy the games.  And if the Qun turns out not to be fair towards women....well...that's just how their society is.  Seems realistic tbh.

Mass Effect 3 was the first game where I had the option to play as a gay male, and finally be able to play as a character I could feel comfortable projecting myself onto, looking up to, relating to and empathizing with completely.

I could have a relationship with a man in this game, and said relationship was treated as the norm in-universe, as no different as an opposite-sex coupling.

My crew included Steve Cortez and Specialist Traynor, an African-American gay man and lesbian.

For the first time, I felt that I had a real place in video games, that this was a community I could be a part of and be ok and accepted in.

It made me appreciate the Mass Effect games, and BioWare, on a whole new level, and I personally have the utmost respect for them for their inclusiveness, and their handling of LGBT characters and sexuality.

I can't think of many others, if any, who I would argue are on the same level as BioWare for there excellent representation and treatment of minorities.

Which is why I find it so disheartening to see other LGBT people complain about how BioWare handled Dorian, or hated Kaidan's retconning, or found certain bisexual characters to be promiscuous, or how LGBT romances weren't on the same level as the straight romances, and that BioWare sucks at LGBT representation, and that BioWare needs to do more, so much so much more, because for some people's anger at how they maybe treated in real life, they look to BioWare and games as said substitute for simulating experiences they may not get in the real world.

I will forever commend BioWare, and not appreciate it when they are criticized without valid criticisms in my honest opinion.

It's hardly going to make other companies look and go, hm, well BioWare's reception to inclusiveness and representation was positive, so let's follow suit.

People will always talk bad things about Bioware, but they will never praise them about the good things they did. I'm super salty about those threads.

Just let Bioware create great characters! I don't care about color, gender or sexual orientation.

Shortly people will ask Bioware to include a character from every country in the world, and if they don't do it, they don't care about their costumers.

I wish i could turn in to a Krogan a do this to some people.

Great post Prince. :)

Side note:  Some people asking for absolute equality might be missing a crucial point.  It's by watching and taking part in the stories of people who are treated badly, because of their race/sex/gender/sexuality/species, that we see the world through their eyes.  Then hopefully we all get a little step closer to understanding how that unfairness feels and impacts people.

And maybe, just maybe, it makes us a slightly better person.

Video games need bad themes to help teach the world how to steer away from them in their own lives.

Pffttttt.  There I was looking forward to my second run with DAI, being a mage and bonking Cullen, and now I'm stuck with the face.  My dwarf looked awesome (see avatar).  But the human female is just so frustrating!

I've spent the last 3 days constantly going back to the BE, then the game is crashing when I go there, and I'm tweaking everything and I've still got a generic unconvincing face.

Can I just nick Cassandra's head, she won't mind right?

This is pissing me off.  It's almost as hard as ME femshep.

I just love it when a brand new member posts 10 new threads in the already cramped MEA forum.

Woke up this morning, saw the news, decided to shut up about my first world problems for the day.

Good God I feel sick just watching it.  Those poor people.  -_-

2016 has just been the worst year.

And its only just over half way through...  :(

Sometimes there are just no words to describe how I feel about stuff like that, its just incomprehensible to me that one person can actually do that, to effect so many lives, just not the families and friends of lost ones, but those who were injured, those who witnessed it happen... its unbelievable how one person cannot give thought as to consequence, to truly comprehend what they are doing, what there actions will trigger.

It makes me sick to my stomach.

One of the witnesses was saying they thought it must be an accident and it reminded me of 9/11.  I was watching that thinking 'oh god, they lost control of the plane and accidentally hit the building!'.  My brain just couldn't process that someone could do something so violent on purpose.  They may have the intent, but to actually carry it through is incomprehensible to me.

 How did you pull that off? Ohhh, wait. That mod. lulz.

Think you need to fill out one of the Vorcha's forms, checking off "OP Butthurt" among other options, hahah. I obviously don't know if it was the OP that did the reporting but someone sure was in a pissing-match mood.

Sorry to read you got the point, though.

Hahaha it's ok, i don't even care about the warnings anymore. The first warning was stupid and this one i was right. Dutch is always making dumb threads and talking crap at Bioware and Andromeda.

I said something like "This forum should have a rule that you get banned when you make too many shitty threads."

At least that was funny xD
