I've tried so hard to like this game, coming back to it after uninstalling several times, but the combat system and tactical camera in particular is dreadful.

 

I've so many complaints about the tactical camera but currently, my main gripe is that the cursor (due to the way it tracks the terrain) vanishes at various points over terrain making it impossible to target enemies.

 

It happens all over the place but I'm currently trying to close a rift in a cave that has several depressions in the ground and rock fields that cause the tactical camera cursor to vanish when it passes over them, creating untargetable black spots.

 

There's a Despair Demon that usually sits in one of these blackspots, making it untargetable, where it simply blasts away with its 'death ray' taking my party out easily. 

 

I've also had my main character die in a blackspot taking him out completely as it wasn't possible to target him for resurrection and it's not a situation I can play in real time.

 

Is there any way of fixing this game breaking bug?

I know the cave, zoom in with tac cam, watch for targets to be highlighted is the best you can do or, stop further back very near the mouth of the cave to be able to target. Pretty well have to do that one with just pause and set one action for each party member, resume. Or be sure you are leveled up enough and let AI reun the team with you playing the weakest one.
