I should time myself. It takes me a while. Gotta be just right. Hopefully the lighting is better than DAI.

I never timed myself either but i just cannot imagine that making a character would take me more then that. But i could be wrong though but one thing i know for sure is that making a character does not take me a day or even days  ;)

Well if we don't get a Salon of sorts then I would hope our female protagonist doesn't have the "Duck bill" mouth the Femshep had in ME1, I seriously hated that with a passion, tried and tried to fix it...sigh

You might be right with the shoulder length of the hair though hair is i think always bin an issue for Bioware games. Like the hair in Inquisition i have said this before i'm not sure in which topic i said it. But it looks more like plastic hair and with the technology these days hair should be more like Lara or the Witcher 3 hair that actually flows in the wind. And yes we will have to wait and see what they are going to do.

I think that might be because they were trying to make DAI functional on the older systems though. We can't forget the fact that Bioware made DAI so that both the last gen as well as current gen could play it. Which for me was a mistake imo. MEA is going to be completely current gen so the noose may well be loosened a little bit and they can fine tune things a bit more. Of course we won't know until we see the game but there's always hope. Hopefully things can be improved now that the technical restrictions have been lifted a bit. But I do agree it needs to look a bit more like the hair we see in TR and similar games Even the hair in the Halo and COD games look better and they'er just simple shooters. I think that DA2 shows that Bioware are capable if they put the effort in though. They just need to be prepared to do so. This isn't the first hair thread I've seen on here so I'm pretty sure Bioware is aware of these shortcomings and what we feel about them. It's just a matter of how they choose to respond to it now.

Neither have I usually only takes me about 20 minutes max to create my hero. As  usually I go into the CC with what I want to create in mind and then I just match it as closely as possible within the CC's limitations

As mentioned before, there's be clipping issues with long hair.  Plus the rather impractical aspect of long, loose hair in a fight.

So if they were going to have longer hair styles, I'd rather see it as a braid or a tail.

Someone somewhere and sometime ago on the forum mentioned an interesting idea: there is the different hairs with long and short hairstyles that the player character can have and looks the same off-duty but when on-duty, the player character's hairstyle is automatically switched out with a bun or tail,

That said, Ashley Williams did have her odd change in appearance in Mass Effect 3 and since she was allowed to keep it, her impractical hair must have met the Alliance's military regulations. I wasn't fond of the change to say the least but it happened.

A lot of things happened in ME3 that made no sense and should probably be left forgotten

Well, I can only speak for myself on this so to put short and simple; I felt the change came out of nowhere and did not seem to fit Ashley William's characterization especially since she always seemed to keep a very practical look according to my memory.

I wasn't because it seemed odd given how Ashley had always worn her hair in a simple bun and always worn the military uniform off-duty yet now she wears her hair long and wears what is not the Alliance's military uniform or a version of it. Ashley always seemed to prefer a practical and simple look so I am not sure where the look she had in Mass Effect 3 came from or why they decided to give her it.

"Ashley, Kaidan and Liara were meant to be love interest throughout all three parts of the triology. After taking them away from player in Mass Effect 2, they were ready for a passionate return in Mass Effect 3. For Ashley's reappearance in the series, we let her hair down and gave her sex appeal". - From 'The Art of Mass Effect'

Basically they wanted to make her more sexually appealing. Honestly I'd rather they stay true to the character's instead.

It seemed like the developers changed Ashley William's appearance not as a result of her characterization and not as a result of character development but because they wanted her to be eyecandy for the player.

That kind of thing has seldom, if ever, sat well with me.

She looked more mature with that look in my opinion.

From the mouth of her own creator:

"We can debate details all day, but let's cut to the chase and talk about artistic intent.

ME1 Ashley was interpreted as a soldier who was attractive. ME3 Ashley was interpreted a sex object who carried a gun.

Compare the iconic appearances of her in the two games. Look at the how prominent the eyeshadow and lip gloss become. Look at how she goes from light contoured armor to something that suggests a "little black dress" and shows off her posterior. Look at how her hair goes from a combat-sensible bun to an in-your-eyes glam cut."

This is also THE CREATOR of the science of ME1 and subsequently hater of the crap in ME2 and ME3. HE is the sci-fi tech of this universe. I get the feeling he hates the cat suits and face masks in toxic environs too.

Like what?

Personality removal

tin foil miniskirt and thigh high boots as uniform

glammed-up "sex appeal" for a rough-and tumble tomboy character

And that's just for one character

Edit:  also took a character named Ash Williams and removed ability to use a shotgun

Yeah. I wanted something like that. Go to fight the reapers and Cerberus. High possibility of death and I don't even get kinky. All I get is a make out session and then we fall asleep. LOL Talk about a wasted opportunity. And personality wise yes she changed and not for the better.

This again. What about the painful skinniness? Shepard was built like a beast but femshep really had nothing to amazing going for her not that I really care but come on, those arms were way too skinny. Sexist? Maybe.

Ah psychology. one of my many interests. It never ceases to amaze me. Bioware think they're slick huh? It always amazed me why we perceive certain things as attractive. From a psychological viewpoint I see why but I can't fully comprehend it. Ah the human mind is wondrous.
