I'd love long hair, but I've sort of given up on that because Bioware have a horrible track record with hair in their games. I doubt they're even trying.

I'd be fine with some proper shoulder length hair, or something like this:

yibing-jiang-yibing-jiang-highres-134215

yibing-jiang-yibing-jiang-highres-134215

What Naughty Dog have been able to achieve with the hair in Uncharted 4, a console game, is just stunning. And guess what, it all moves and there's no clipping.

But I honestly could forgive the hair being stiff and some clipping, as long as it just looked better and we got some better hairstyles like Elena and Nadine. None of that receding hairline, I cut this myself with a lady razor, and sometimes I like to rock a mall girl ponytail, bullshit they passed off as hair in Inquisition. C'mon Bioware, it's 2016, step up your hair game!

Yes! Those are their in-game models!

You can see Nadine in action in this video:

Skip to 5:22 to see the in-game fight with her, and you can see how her hair bounces and moves. Oh, and that video has spoilers, by the way. Just in case someone is playing Uncharted 4 or plans to ;)

Actually, it's a PS4 exclusive game, not available on PC :P. It really pushed the console to its limits. And the best part is they didn't sacrifice gameplay or length for the graphics. Unlike The Order 1886. That game looked gorgeous but it was only 6 hours long. A lot of people are calling Uncharted 4 a masterpiece, and I agree.

I'm currently playing Uncharted 4. Excellent game. The characters look good. And yes the hair looks good as well.

It's a console game, but it's not a last-gen console game. We'll have to see what Bio can do without the 360 and PS3 dragging them down.

How many different hairstyles and gear combos are they having to support, though?

Mind you, Naughty Dog are a first party developer. I'd expect that direct access to Sony engineers, large funding specifically for showcasing the PS4's power, and years of experience developing for the same architecture probably has more bearing on Uncharted 4's visuals than its limited number of unique NPCs.

Yeah, true. I'm glad they cut support for the 360 and PS3. I'm guessing that's where a lot of the limitations came for Inquisition.

And pretty much all the characters in Uncharted 4 have detailed hair like that, including the men, although their hair is short obviously. Nate's hair even has a wet version. You can see more here: https://www.artstati...m/artwork/JOY4A

Also, keep in mind that the characters themselves and the clothes they wear are incredibly detailed in-game. Their facial hair is 3D and not just a shitty texture, and Rafe even has 3D arm hair. Plus, the in-game areas you visit are pretty big and gorgeous. You'd have to play it yourself to be able to fully appreciate all the detail that went into that game.

Now, I'm not saying Bioware should attempt to match the hair in Uncharted 4 or anything like that, since that's never going to happen with all the NPCs they have, but I'm sure they could come up with some decent hair in Andromeda if they tried.

if long hair styles, then please for everyone - male character too!

Forever jealous of Kai Leng's flowing locks.

You call using "magic" a would be future device for me that's just fantasy.

The deifinition for fantasy is not "magic" most low fantasy stories don't even have magic in it.

It's a fictional game, but there are still logics behind certain elements. I don't get why people use fiction to justify having crazy idea. It's a fictional game, but the general similarities of the real world is still present. Humans are still humans, you are not gonna see male Shepard getting pregnant from Garrus something like that. Some people prefer to have a certain logical ground based on the real world. With that being said, the protagonist appearance is not canon, if they could spare resources, I don't care if it's in there or not. I just don't like it on military NPCs.

You never know Trip from Enterprise managed to get pregnant after having Sex with an alien in Season 1 if I remember correctly. One of Enterprise's more weird episodes I have to admit though. Quite funny in it's own way though too.

Ashley Williams was military to the bone. She bled Alliance blue and her hair was below the shoulders in ME3, so I think the regs argument goes out the window.

Thats because the Ashley Williams of ME3 was not the one of ME1. They totally messed up with her character and her appearance in the third game.

There is a bit of difference, in my opinion; hybridisation was established very early on as being possible in the Star Trek universe starting with Spock, I believe, while I do not believe we've seen any indication that hybridisation is possible in the Mass Effect universe.

Was not fun of the episode myself: there seemed to be a lot of questionable elements in it that did not seem to have been thought through.

Note: The asari produced from an asari melding with a non-asari are not hybrids. This is because of how said melding works and the purpose behind it.

To ask Bioware to get as good with hair as Naughty Dog is asking an orange to be an apple :P Naughty Dog has been the king in (hyper) realism in terms of graphics since Uncharted 2 (ignoring Nate's green stubble), Bioware has been sucking to create hair since.... ever. But part of the reason is the platform they work on, the amount of assets required, the possibility for customization, the engine they work with and the resources available (Uncharted and the Last of Us have been definite system sellers, I got my PS3 for TLOU and planning to get my PS4 for UC4 alone). Which is why apples and oranges, unfortunately.

Even if BioWare felt they had to keep hair short, I'd be content, as long as they made it look great. We need them to finally make the hair look lifelike. The textures and colts should all look real. A wide variety of styles would also be appreciated.

They are well known for making horrifically bad hair. It's embarrassing, or should be. It's time to change that.

true but that dosen't mean it couldn't happen in a future game though it just hasn't been touched on. Plus I wsa referring to a male getting pregnant part of the post seeing that Trip was a male. Not so much that it could or couldn't happen within the ME universe.

She was still military through snd through though even I could see that.

I'd settle for better ponytails. Also Dragon Age 2 is a good example for medium length hairstyles that aren't that far fetched for a fighter. Why go from 10 different shaved hairstyles to extremely long hairstyles and not find a middle ground?

Sure, I would love a option of longer hair for my female characters. Not as long as what OP put since that since a little unrealistic for ME since you are playing as a soldier. But I would love sightly longer just past shoulders hair options that look feminine but still are practical.

^This, the goddamn decent curly hair/ afro!

Now that is what I want to see the most done right already.

Side-note: Also I would like some medium length hair for males too, perhaps a ponytail. Kai Leng had it I mean.

I'm just tired of buzzcuts(not fan of them) and before someone tries to insert military background on me here is what I will say, first who says we shall be in military, two even if we were I recall Ashley having salon hair 24/h, so don't even try to insert military bullcrap in here  ;)

I'm all for great hair in MEA, but Ashley looked completely out of place. I wanted to order her into the restroom to was her face and tie back her hair. Poor Ash. :(

You use short hairstyles because there's not a lot of room in a hardsuit helmet of the type we've seen in the concept art. Regulations don't have much to do with it except in the sense that regulations are there for practical reasons.
