Fallout 4 had moving hair- and clipping. And, I haven't noticed it myself, but I've heard that Kai Leng's hair moves.
It does. When he's on top of the C-Sec skycar you can see it moving a bit.

... I think I might have missed something haha... when did computer game graphics get this good??? Everything looks so beautiful... the character models are so detailed! Im shocked! xxx
exactly what I thought when I saw the remastered graphics for Halo 2 in the Halo MCC Miranda Keyes hair moves in that as well. Especially when she's in that running sequence and all lthat you can notice it. It is starting to happen but it seems only now that people are starting to realise what these systems can really do. Given MEA is locked on the newer consoles only hopefully Boiwaer can start to take advantage of this as well. Besides there's been plenty of complaints about the hair all over this forum Bioware would have to be blind in order to not see them. I'm pretty sure they'll likely do something about it what I'm not sure but they've got to find something even if it is just a few more better designed hairstyles. Hopefully it'll be more than that though.

Long hair. 2016 has no place for helmet hair.
Or plastic hair... ![]()

They already did it with Ashley, she's alliance and then also spectre. During combat she wears a proper protective helmet (*cough*, unlike some squaddies out there) that hides her hair well and doesn't hinder her performance.
Out of combat, this is where she gets to let her hair down
I'd love to have that in my PC, but if rendering them is such a chore and a time killer, then I'd settle for some good and tasteful short to medium length hair cuts..
Seriously. Get a hair and clothes designer. For once :/

Whenever I see people posting these long hair mods more often than not it looks over the top and out of place. Personally I don't think hair should be any longer than shoulder length on females if even that. And I may get roasted for saying this but males should not have any long hair options at all. It's out of place in a game like ME where we are playing a military based character.

Frankly, I'd like more modern-stylish short hairstyles. There are so many short and feminine hairstyles, I think it would be quite easy to use some of those to create some good styles even without having long hair.
Still, some good ponytails, or braids with bangs would be more than welcome.
But what I'd love is having colored highlights and bangs.Spoiler
These are nice feminine hair styles, even without the highlights!
If the highlights go too crazy, it will make them look too cartoonish, I think.
I still like Quorra's and Cortana's hair styles too.
Mostly I'd like to see the women's longer hairstyles shown when the characters are off-duty, hanging around on the ship and in civilian-type situations where they have no reason to wear a helmet. Ashley's longer mane was just right for her rank and as a soldier. When she wore her helmet in combat, the hair didn't leak out, which is appropriate.

Given that there is no visible difference between men's and women's roles in the military in MEU, I would have to ask whether there is any reason for them to maintain gender-based hair grooming standards.
We don't really know what the standards are in MEU, although we do know that at least some of them are different from our current standards. Joker would never be accepted in today's military, due to his brittle bone disease. I also have to wonder about Kaidan, with his L2 implant induced headaches.
In any case, I would certainly like to see some longer hairstyles for male characters. They wouldn't need to be terribly long - just original Han Solo length (for example) would be a refreshing change of pace over the buzzcuts.

Well, a few streak of colour are still less cartoonish than the purple hair Shep could have in ME3. XD
I would love a big range of colours for the higlights. From natural to blu, purple, pink. I would not be against having the options.
Still, I would be happy with hairstyles like those even without higlights. Short, but feminine and with enought shi-fi feeling.

yeah as I said I'd like to see a couple of Miranda/Ashley type shoulder length options being made available for the protag. Perhasps even 1 or 2 of the styles used in DA2 as well would be appropriate. I can see these sorts of things workin ganything longer could be excessive we'll just have to wait and see what Bioware come up with. If hey want to add hair physics and such as wel then even better. But we at least want better hairstyles we at least need an improvement in that department after DAI

Plenty of things are "out of place" for a military based character.
If people are going to keep using that excuse as a reason to keep ideas out of the game, I'd probably recommend making the character in ME:A not military.
Although in ME2 Shep isn't military. In ME1 and 3 we're special forces which as people have noted, have reasons for not always looking like a soldier.

Forget military regs...we're playing an over-the-top space fantasy. So, let me live out my space fantasy with a character that resembles the golden age of sci fi. Flowing 70's locks and all.
There's a good amount of people that are sick of being a typical soldier. Since Bioware didn't want to steer away from that blandness, maybe they can make amends, throw us a bone, and give us some not so typical character creation options (such as hairstyles other than buzzcuts and updos)

yeah but most of them if I recall are DA mods in DA you don't neccessaily play a character that's part of the military tbh. Rogues aeraer basically people like ypou and me that you'd find in the street just regular civilans like Varric and Leliana. Again asme with mages whilst they may undergo some basic combat training in the event soimething like one of them gets possessed by a demon they at least then can defend themselves. ME I agree does kind of follow different rules. But even it is still scifi/fantasy although moer along the sci fi route whereas DA is fantasy. Stlil there's no reason 3why ther shouldn' tbe ast least 1 or 2 longer options than we do seem to get. If you don't want them on your character just don't select them it's fairly straightforward in hat regard. There's nothing wrong with having the options there for those that do and tbh I like the idea of being able to select an AshleyMiranda type hairstyle for a character as I thought it suited them and would suuit a lot of people I've created as well in the DA and ME games. In fact was thinking about something like that for my next warden on DAO given she'll be a rogue.

so would I under those circumstances besides many people on this very forum have suggested different ways they can get around this like saying having a different background such as like a science background who asys that our commander has to be srtictly military and follow military guidelines in what is a pure sci fi game where many rules can be changed anyway.
After all if I remember correctly before Janeway was given the captaincy of Voyager wasn't she a science officer? Just give us different backgrounds to play with as options and BAM done. Besides I think even the writers of their own series break the rules they lay down from time to time. The Star Trek writers have done it on moer thasn one occasion and it's hardly surprising that it has happened in ME too in places.
At the end of the day though all that matters at least to me is they tel a good story which is something I know Bioware can do. Although as I say I would like some good options we still need to hope that Bioware deliver them

Fantasy is different, I don't mind long hair in fantasy games.

So if someone will have a long hair his enemies would drag them as rip their hairs while close combat fight and they will burn where fire happens?
no, nothing of this things what should be never happen, so no long hair for a military/combat/extreme situation heroes
thats ridiculous, as fem shep body what is not suited for a special forces and fighting with Vega and krogans with such weak body is stupid

This is a sci-fi game.
If we want to talk about realistic, our character should probably always be wearing a helmet anyway which completely negates this issue.

We need the ability to do this at some point:

Obviously being gay is optional.

Ew... I hope they don't have any gay contents in ME4, Bioware is caving to SJW and adding in gay relationship. It's Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve.
