Long hair (even if allowed) makes not a lick of sense in those circumstances (it's not practical at all and gets in the way often - NOTE: I am male and I do have long hair (longer than shoulder length!), but I would cut it way shorter if I had a dangerous job where my hair might get in the way or where I couldn't take care of said hair on a daily basis (long hair is much more in need of care - from brushing to washing it with conditioner etc.) which can't be guaranteed in the field after all!))

 

So nope, please -.- (note: In space it might also foul the seals on your space suit...sorry, but nice hair isn't worth suffering and dying from (explosive) decompression!)

Would you want players to be able to choose hair like this for the female character or should it be more realistic and fit military regulations?

Realistically/practically we should be wearing helmets for combat, anyway. So I don't really find that a strong argument against long hair.

But given limited resources, I can see an argument for prioritising having actually decent short hair before getting onto the long hair.

Honestly I don't ever want to see long hair on the main character if that character is supposed to be some kind of military personnel. I know some people don't care about having a consistent setting *Points to the above pictures* but I sure do.

I agree. I don't love much long hair (It's been years since I had long hair. Not for me, too much work) and even if I'm not against to have it, I would like to have some short and fashionable hairstyles before having long ones.

The problem is that BioWare doesn't seem to have ever seen any hairdresser's magazine. of course people don't like short hair, if the options are as ugly as BioWare always made! Still, at least some sensible bun or braid, or ponytail shouldn't be such a hard task ro make for the modeller.

There's hundreds of other military based games that exist with IRL regulations and settings. Let ME be ME.

Yeah, because there are no civilian NPC.... quite frankly, it would kill much more my immersion seeing all the non military people wear the horrendous "militar" hairstyle.

Not nearly as immersion killing as seeing marines that guard the cic with long hair.  Besides what is so "horrendous" about military hairstyle?  It's just short hair.

And why non militar NPCs should not have different non-boring hairstyles? I really don't understand you. If the woman they guard is not in the military, why should she not have a non-militar haircut? Buzzcuts are boring. Ugly. And remind me of Aushwitz and prison.

Not all shorter hair is a buzzcut.  The hair styles MEs 1-3 are not all buzzcuts.  In fact most of them are just normal hairstyles.

This thread is about creating attractive short or long hair styles and to absolutely avoid DA:I's horrendous hair creations.

 

Now I agree that military types need "regulation cuts". But, clumps of hair on a bald head is ludicrous.  I expect most of Andromeda's characters to come with short hair styles but I also expect the CC tool to be much improved, since Bio mgnt is constantly pushing the awesomeness of the FB3 graphics.

Speaking of haircuts in general, I find long hair most boring hairstyle ever. It's not just taste, its the fact that basically everyone, absolutely EVERYONE (women) has the same boring off-the-mold long hair nowadays. Does nobody care about being a little original and interesting anymore?  

 

It kind of reminds me of the 30's when every man absolutely had to wear a hat and a suit in either grey or black. Wasn't that wonderful?

I agree about how conformist are long hair for woman. And is why I'd like to have some more inventive short hairstyle for female (there are a lot of different haircut that are feminine and stylish, without going into long hair)
