Well, bisexual people in fiction shouldn't be allowed to do bad things. That's just offensive.

Creators should follow the example of DAI, where every single non-monstrous villain is white and (if their sexuality is addressed at all) straight.

(Note: I actually don't care about this. I just noticed it as a trend in DAI wherein Gay=Good and Straight=EEEEEEEEEVIL)

I know both evil straight and gay people IRL. And I wouldn't define Dorian and Sera as "good", he is pretty much set in the ways of Tevinter, and she is very roguish. Not exactly saint material.

Edit: Also, I don't think Sebastian belongs on the morally upstanding list, he was a warmonger, who lashed out at an entire city to punish one person. Also, unlike Alistair and Cassandra, he's extremely self-righteous. I don't find him to be a positive character at all.

Warmonger?  I remember him offering Kirkwall nothing but aid...

If only there was some clearer way to identify the virtuous bisexuals in our midst without them loudly announcing their attraction to both genders. Perhaps we could develop some series of hand gestures all bisexuals could perform?

Or maybe we could have some kind of in-game gaydar at the bottom right of the screen that could ping whenever you look at a LGBT character? No, wait, that would too clearly identify the villains. :P

They're in opposition to Corypheus (who was, tellingly, straight before he became a darkspawn). Whatever other moral failings they may have, that basically puts them on the side of the angels. Sort of. I mean, we're in league with Solas, so I guess we're still kind of bad.

In retrospect, we should have known something was up with Solas. A STRAIGHT elf? Clearly dodgy.

To put an example, in BG2 going against Jon Irenicus doesn't change the fact you can be a Chaotic Evil Psycho.

Look, nobody said straight people is bad and lgbt is good, that's pure bullshit, I can think of both straight and lgbt people whose guts I hate.

Heck, there are some straight people I like more than some lgbt people.

He promises to start a war and destroy Kirkwall over one man, and in Inquisition he want to invade a state, even though he knows Anders is not there anymore. So yes, warmonger. He doesn't get dismissed, because people miss his banter, he gets dismissed, because people dislike him. But as you said, this is not an Anders vs Sebastian thread.

You're still missing my point completely.

The way Leliana's sexuality was done was pretty good.  She flirts with Morrigan, makes a reference to the sisters at chantry being easy on the eye, makes some comments about Alistair when the Warden is romancing him.  Her attraction to men and women is made clear through her dialogue.  Anyone talking to her, or listening to banter is well aware that she likes men and women.  Compare her dialogue to Merrill's: Merrill will comment on the attractiveness of Qunari, and seems interested in Carver when he awkwardly flirts with her ('did I miss another dirty thing?'), but her attraction to women is more confined to when she's being romanced by Hawke, and almost non-existant with m!Hawke (there's some banter with Bela that hints otherwise).  It's the same with Fenris.  If he's not romanced by m!Hawke then he's easy to read as straight.  In Act III, when Bela and Fenris can hook up, BW could've easily had Bela and Merrill hook up instead, or had Bethany develop a crush on Merrill if Hawke is a warrior or a rogue.  Have Merrill make a few comments about an attractive woman she's seen in the same way she talks about the Qunari being easy on the eyes, even.

Yes, I'm sure I know what you're talking about.  I too always choose Anders over Seb.  I have totally heard that dialogue before.

(alright, alright.  I'll stop).

I said that, based on my observation that all the evil people in DAI are straight (or demons).

Name someone serving Corypheus who is definitely gay or bi and I'll withdraw my statement. (Demons don't count.)

Like I said: hand signals. *Taps nose*

Now I have to go lie down as the very idea of Isabela/Merrill is horrifying.

There's no evidence any of them are straight.

Cory could have been playing ball for the other team... Of and the magister that tricked the wardens that beard screams "I'm so pretty"

Okay poor offensive jokes aside the guy who rules Fereldan during it's occupation slept with his cousin then emperor and got exiled so there's that(unless retained been awhile)

Calpernia loved Marius. Alexius had a kid and loved his wife. Corypheus used to be married to a woman. Knight-Captain Carroll hit on Leliana and Morrigan. The others are left ambigious, since their sexuality is irrelevant to their part in the story.

And I said in DAI, not the previous games. Though heterosexuality was a fairly reliable indicator of shaky morals in previous games, there were a couple gay villains. Branka, for instance.

And she was a good villain, because her sexuality was basically her only humanizing factor and she tossed her lover aside because of her obsession with THE ANVIL.

Celene? Not exactly a morally upstanding person by any definition.

Are you implying that Magister Erimond did not have a huge boner for his beloved elder one? :P

But is willing to side with the Inquisition and definitely does not serve Corypheus.

A religious boner, not a literal one. :P

So you are now only counting as evil if you work for one specific evil organization? Sounds legit.

Celene is morally grey, but not evil.

And Erimond was totally in love with Cory.  That's 100% canon.

Name someone else in DAI outside of Corypheus' circle who is gay and evil. Feel free to include the DLCs.

But how do you know?

He never did the hand signals.

Half of those are not in DAI. And again, do not serve Corypheus.

Cassandra, Blackwall, Solas (morally grey is not the same as evil), Varric (debatable, all we know he likes ladies), Vivienne (again, nothing confirmed other than her liking men), Alistair (can join if he's a Warden), Morrigan.

No serve Corypheus.

I can't believe this went from 'the explicit bisexual characters are often shown as promiscuous' to 'But but but what about the straight people? They are always villains!'.

No wait, I can.

Oh come on, that's a stretch. LGBT people are a minority, so by matter of chance alone you are less likely to find an evil mastermind among them. Because evil masterminds are rare already, and to rise from an already rare group is just RARE.

And how many twin villains did we have?
