I thought that if he was romanced then he was guaranteed to live. So can a romanced Steve die? If so under what condition? Anyone know? Thanks.

I've heard that before, yet last time I played I spoke to Steve twice on the Normandy but didn't encourage him to go to the Citadel. He never showed up, didn't ask to meet in the Citadel DLC, so when he died Shep yelled 'CORTEZZZZ!!' instead.
Was it patched?
I would assume the romanced Steve always lived as you'd have to do those Citadel meet-ups to romance him in the first place.

Maybe Mr Meer simply misquoted.

IItRC (on PC)
Cortez dies
MShep: Cortez!
FemShep: Cortez!
Cortez lives
MShep: STEEEVE!, subtitles "Shepard: Steve!"
FemShep: *silence*, subtitles "Shepard: Steve!"
Cortez survives if Shepard met him at the refugee memorial.
The lock-in at Purgatory happens only after they met at the memorial wall.
So, no. Romanced Steve can't die.
But from what it gathered it was considered as one of several outcomes at the time of recording.
STEEEEEEVE! (Sorry, just had to.) ![]()
Edit: With Save Editor/Romanced Steve dies
Steve: "Damn it. You've got airborne hostiles inbound."
Steve: "Gonna try to keep 'em off you!"
MShep: "Careful, Steve!" (romanced line)
Steve: "Damn it. I'm hit."
MShep: "Cortez!"
*explosion*
*human squadmate roars*
Edit2: There appears to be a voiced but unused line "No!", uttered by MShep.
