Alright, so why am I taking so much damage through walls, especially from Scions? It doesn't seem to matter if I'm in soft or hard cover.  I don't think their attacks are actually penetrating cover. Is there some kind of splash damage? Is it the same with Geth Prime cannons, Atlas rockets, and Banshee warp balls? How large is the area of splash damage? I played on Xbox a few years ago but don't remember getting hit this much. Maybe I'm just bad now.  Just started playing on PC.

Scions have splash damage, a wide AoE, and some wacky wallhax abilities that vary somewhat by map.

 

Atlas rockets will track around corners and have AoE splash damage with DoT, unless you do this:

 

 

Geth Primes don't do splash damage, I don't think, but it's not like they don't have enough cheapness without it.

 

Banshee Warp Balls will chase around corners and track you across the map and through walls, at times. They have DoT, but shouldn't do splash damage, I don't think.

On the brute part, I picture it as the brute is literally charge-swiping his claw through the wall, we just don't get the graphic of it happening cause they couldn't do destructible environments. But think of how awesome that would look.

Just think of what a waste it would've been for Scions to be so well endowed and not be able to penetrate.

There's quite a few walls that lie to you about being walls, and any enemy can shoot through the 'wall'. You just notice it more with Scions because of how hard they hit.

Everyone is saying it's blast damage, but I, personally, haven't ever noticed a Scion hitting me through a wall or hard cover. Soft cover, it happens all the time. If I have so much as a finger sticking out from behind it, I'm done for. But while hunkered down behind actual cover, they can't hit me.

 

Oh, but Praetorians? Yeah, they definitely don't understand how walls work.

Melee Enemies all have Geth Vision! The Brutes are funny because they try to melee you even if they are a level above or below you, watch their swipe, it always reaches further than you think and then you get staggered into a Husk humping or a Cannibal love hug or those murderous Maurader Elbows!
