Restore his honor by being an AD killer with his personal sword-soul and be remembered as a Qunoran vhel, seem a perfect story arch.

Any particolar reason for why this option was not included?

The Qunari only appeared in Thedas about two hundred years after the previous Blight and have been at war with everyone else since. They probably haven't made any treatises with the Grey Wardens, and so the Right of Conscription doesn't apply to them.
Aside from that he strikes me as a man of the Qun through and through. I don't think he'd ever commit himself to something outside the scope of his duty to his people. His issues with the idea of career-hopping alone would be a problem.

Because you don't have the joining juice until after the Landsmeet and by the time you realize why Grey Wardens are so damn important Riordan has given the last sip sip to Loghain or poured it down the Landsmeet toilet equivalent and you are already on a forced March to Denerim to kill the dragon?
Or he might have refused because he's Sten of the Beresaad and becoming a Grey Warden would turn him into a weak turtle, forever encumbered by his old soldier shell?

Riordan had the resources to create more GW if he wanted (like Oghren and Sten) he didn't for DR nosense because Gaider forbid to npc to use logic if that undermine his Morrigan pet quest.

I was curious that the HoF didn't attempt to get some sort of treaty with the Qunnari thru Sten; you'd think the First Warden would have done that. Everyone has to contribute to the effort of fighting the Blight and the Qunnari haven't contributed any resources to date. The First Warden writes the HoF or Orleanian Warden Commander in DAA stressing how important it is to have recognition in Ferelden and Vigils keep so its strange there was no attempt to cement relations with the Qunnari especially after Sten became Arishok.

Enough juice in Origins for one additional warden, you're not going to use it on a Qunari whose loyalty-outside of the Hero of Ferelden-is questionable.

The idea of a Qunari GW sounds interesting, but Sten works for the Qun, my guess is he considers completing his mission his redemption.Any particolar reason for why this option was not included?

If we ever get a Qunari GW I imagine he/she'll be a Tal Vashoth, the Qun seems rather restrictive for one of them to become a Warden (a neutral faction).

I would never make a Qunari a GW simply because the Qunari is to war like. We did get a Qunari Inquisitor and of course Iron Bull as a NPC in DA:I.
I said it before and I'll say it again. Riodan was one of Loghain's flunkies why else would he speak up for Loghain and remain mum when Loghain orders your warden and Alistair's execution? Riodan knew only Greys can kill the AD but,says- cue crickets chirping.

The bias is strong here....to say that RIordan was Loghain lackeys... he just wanted an extra warden and yes i agree with him Loghain was perfect to kill the archdemon while Alistair was killed for betrayal.

Akiza,You failed to see the big picture that I mention. Loghain was going to kill both wardens and his lackey Riordan says nothing about that yet, speaks up when you're about to kill Loghain for his many crimes. Riordan's pleas fall on deaf ears. My Warden had enough of Loghain. Like Howe the last thing he sees in this world is the fiery hate filled green eyes of my Elven warden.

Big picture? I thought it was just a negative bias toward Riordan the only unbiased character of DAO....
and i didn't asked anything about your warden he doesn't even exist for me so keep continue to live in your own world.

Well, Loghain's lackey didn't say a thing when Loghain ordered the execution of the last two Greys in Ferelden. That's part of the game if you fail at the Landsmeet.

The first time you meet Riordan is on your way to deal with Howe and his mage in order to release the magical binds holding the door where Anora is kept prisoner..
Riordan is supposedly a prisoner of Howe under Loghain's orders. He refuses to join the group says he needs a doctor. Oddly next time you see him he is with Loghain the very person that had him locked up..
Then there is that trap you run into after you free Anora. Who tip Loghain's guards off and how did they know Howe was dead?
Why wasn't Riordan return to his cell since he is supposedly a prisoner and a supposed Orlesian to boot? Recall Loghain has a great hatred toward Orlesians.
Why did Loghain order the execution of Ferelden's last two Greys and not the execution of the Orlesian Grey as a spy?
Could all of this be a chain of B-W's famous WTH moments? I dunno.

There was originally a plan to include a darkspawn infection system, where all companions besides Alistair (and dog and probably Shale) were at risk of being infected and having to go through the Joining. I think it was axed because it would be too much micromanagement or people reloading so the companion wasn't infected. It was too gamey and didn't bring enough to make it enjoyable.
That said, I think Sten would have been similar to Velanna, in that his loyalties would never truly belong to the Wardens and he would only undergo the Joining for personal interest. I could see him agreeing to it in order to learn more about the taint and providing this information to the Arishok when he returned home. He even says in a banter with Alistair that the Southern Thedas concept of honor is different from Qunari honor, so he wouldn't feel obligated to remain with the Grey Wardens because of any oath.

Vbibbi, Velanna turn out to be good warden and defends a village solo from Darkspawn but, finding her sister was always her number one goal and that's why she join the Grey. She wanted the power to detect 'spawn in the Deep Roads and in my games Tidus or Carmin (a CE and the HOF) allows her to join since he/she would do the same if it was Shianni.
Velanna never hid that fact before the joining.

She has multiple epilogues depending on our actions during DAA, so she can also prove not to be a reliable Warden. If the wiki is right, 2 of her four epilogues if she's recruited end with her abandoning the Wardens.

It may depend on how she's played and like Sera there are those that hate her and never use her because of Anders. I use her as soon as she joins because she easily built into a strong mage and group healer..
My standard group is my rogue, Vel, Oghren and Sigrun or what amounts to two Elves and two Dwarves. ![]()

All the companions were originally going to have the option to become Grey Wardens, but this was scrapped for various reasons.
It's too late for the devs to change their minds now, because the companions have all moved on with their lives.
Sten is the new Arishok as of the end of DA2 (either because the old one was killed or disgraced), so he ain't takin' up the Grey any time soon.
