Please give me a logical reason why skinny arms is somehow a bad thing.

For an elite soldier? You need help figuring that out?

Pfft. Look how skinny her arms are...

I think that's more because of the angle of that picture though;

Spoiler

Ciri wasn't too buff but not too thin either. I'd rather prefer a similar lean version to the really butch character models. Not that Gina Carano is bad though.

And give me a logical or factual reason why muscles equates to an elite soldier.

Show me a real life female soldier who you would identify as "elite" that has a buff/muscular body.

This is CPT Kristen Griest. She was one of the two women to be the first women to pass Ranger School. I would argue that if you pass Ranger School, you are an elite soldier.

CPT Griest in no way is a muscular female, at least not the buff borderline body builders that has been shown in this thread. Instead, CPT Griest is short and slender.

So again, give me a factual explanation of why one needs to be buff or have nice looking muscles in order to be elite.

Seems like to me you are stuck on the Hollywood definition of what an elite soldier looks like and Hollywood is not the same as reality.

I await your explanation.

Gina Carano is not an average sized woman. She has to cut weight to get to 145 pounds (and failed to make weight multiple times during her mma career), there is absolutely no need for the female protagonist to be that buff. Soldiers generally aren't bodybuilders anyway.

First of all, do you really need to be taught that lacking muscle means lacking strength? A girl with arms the size of Ciri's couldn't swing a sword through a grapefruit.
Second, show me her arms. I can see that her torso is significantly more broad than Ciri's but you haven't shown me her arms. I would bet her arms are also significantly more broad than Ciri's since she's obviously not as slender as you would like to pretend she is.

You realize that clothing and the folds of clothing aren't part of the arms, right?

Muscles trained for what you want to acheive are a sign of physical strength and stamina. Anyone that disagrees has no basic knowledge of anatomy and biology.

I completed the SOCOM indoc for the Marines. It's more a test of finding people that don't quit and can function well under extreme fatigue vs physical perfection. And I had/have muscles so what's your point?

You are dodging my question.

You showed a picture of some female with MMA/Body Builder type build and implied that a female must look like that to be an elite soldier. I then came back and showed you a real lifr elite female soldier that does not meet your "standards". I then asked you to explain how a female needs to look like a MMA fighter to be elite when clearly Captain Griest does not have a MMA body and was able to get through the elite Ranger School.

First of all, you're being intentionally disingenuous. You posted a pic of skinny, T-Rex arm-having character and said "/ENDTHREAD" so don't even start. I responded with an equally preposterous standard for the female PC to mock you. And don't even try to pretend that the soldier you posted has the body of Ciri. You can see plain as day, right in the pics you provided, that she has a much broader/sturdier build.

The point of the CPT Griest photo was to put an end to the general discussion in this thread that seems to suggest that the only way to have a female soldier who is badass is to have her look like a female hulk. The CPT Griest example proves that a female can be an elite soldier and yet not look like a MMA fighter but pretty normal looking. Hell, even many men who pass Ranger School, RASP, and SFAS are pretty average looking men, some even skinny/slender.

What people in this thread seems to want is the sterotypical Hollywood definition of what a strong soldier should look like.

Even so I don't think it makes a significant difference in this case. Also having muscle isn't equal to having big arms and big arms don't necessarily mean more strength.

Most man don't like masculine women me included, so what it's still a women and we drool over her naked.

Feminine bishonen boys according to anime and women love it.

I won't speak for other men, but I don't give a crap either way if a woman is feminine, if I like her, then I like her. My first girlfriend was decidedly not feminine, and my current now is not particularly feminine either.

The think is no one scream how misandryst games are because we man just don't care, video game characters are sexualised and objectified so what, I like oversexualised women why should i feel bad because of some hypocrite prudes.

Like look oh Bayoneta is sexist. So what. I say good let it be. I don't go and cry how oppressed Dante is because it's fictional character.

I didn't say anything was misandrist, in fact I specifically said that it's NOT a gendered issue.

Ehh, this kind of a body build is just a prestage to this:

Spoiler

If you totally ignore staying fit, then sure. Except then in that case, the body type you have prior becomes totally irrelevant.

While all of that may be true, the main character doesn't necessarily need to look like s/he fits within the average height, weight, or body fat percentage for real world military personnel. They just need to look believable. A character like Vega for example was more muscular than what is typical, but he was believable, because there are real world Marines that look like him. People in the military can range from slender to muscular.

The problem is in how disingenuous you're being. You can't post a skinny, twig-armed character with the proclamation that all discussion must end because you're so right and then go on a tear about what a realistic, elite female soldier should look like. The soldier you posted, Griest, has at least 30 pounds on Ciri so your argument has no merit.

What people in this thread seems to want is the sterotypical Hollywood definition of what a strong soldier should look like.

Yeah, no ****. Because these are stereotypical characters in a franchise that aped Hollywood and the mainstream action genre more and more with every installment.

She's a freak of nature. Like people who can eat broken glass without hurting themselves.
