Gina Carano would've tore him apart :P

If the Yagh existed IFRL - I'd say, hardly: that Yagh even merely visually looked as 600-700 pound carcass. Adding to that being a top level predator on their planet (which means "killing is a natural, innate thing for him") and 8 eyes ..... bare fist fighting cutscenes in LOTSB looked pretty silly to me.

Also, my favourite pic that speaks for itself:

upgrademoto2.jpg

Please, BW, stop that. No need for space-magic N7 push up bras this time, ok?

Perhaps she got bored during her 6 months of being grounded between ME2 and ME3. She wanted to be perkier when she ran into Garrus next. :D

Also, Fem-protagonist MEA definitely doesn't need Bioware arms. (Femshep, Fem-quisitor) They need arms like Nadine in Uncharted 4.

Her arms in ME 2 did have definition despite being thin.  She was on the skinny side in ME 3 though.  Her legs looked solid though

Count me in for her (PC) being not only more realistic but also feminine, kinda like Buffy:

And for the record, while MMA wasn't big or even existent at the time, Sarah Michelle Gellar was learning Tae Kwon Do during the series' run.

There's frequently a problem of reality is unrealistic when it comes to people's expectations of the appearance of a military protagonist.

Several of my older family members had served in the military before they passed, and I work in the kind of business where we offer military perks and discounts. I have met a lot of people in the army and air force, and most of them are not as sculpted and bulky as people on the internet seem to consider "realistic." In fact, most of the military women I've met are pretty slender, clearly athletic, but not obviously muscular.

Maybe it's different for the marines, of whom I haven't met as many, but my experience is that weight lifters or body builders--80's action movie stars--tend to skew the expectation of what military characters should look like, at least in the U.S. These are people who, while they're definitely strong, are commonly more motivated by making themselves look a particular way than any practical application.

Anyway, Vasquez muscles would be too much for me (I'm with those who would prefer a toned Emily Blunt in Edge of tomorrow look), but I'm not opposed to that body type being an option. The ideal case would be body sliders, but that can be prohibitive when it comes to cut scenes, and cinematic content is higher priority for me than most CC variations.

Finally someone said it. You are totally right, at least in my opinion and from my experience. My brother served in the french army, in the infantery. I've seen plenty of soldiers or his friends. There were many who were athletic, finely muscled, yes, but average overall. Not the size of Rambo. Many of those who were more strongly built than others, as much as Silvester Stalone or like Vega, were more than 30 years after serving more than 5-8 years in the army. ( though, let's be clear, a lot of  all those soldiers were certainly more sculpted and muscular than the average civilian )

Those who were less strongly built seemed to be the officers, those who worked in the military academy to lead men. They certainly impressed with their skills and intelligence, were respected because they knew a lot of things, etc, but they certainly didn't win respect from basic soldiers thanks to their appearance lol. Not all officers were like that, but quite a lot appeared less solidly built than the rest to me. To be honest, even some seemed skinny, without much muscles.

As for women, the same, it was even more clear, the big majority was not  " obviously " muscular aka people like Vasquez. Honestly, it's just a myth on internet. There are definitely a lot who are bulk or really muscular regardless of gender, but i wouldn't say it's the standard. The place where i'd say it's more usual, it's in the special forces according to the different countries. There, most of them might be definitely strongly built.

Honestly, basically, there is a lot of different body sizes, that's what I learned years ago. So, I'm not particularly concerned about what is supposed to be realistic or unrealistic with femshep body size I admit.

Not a problem exactly... i mean at a certain point i stop finding them attractive(Nadine is past said point). But the response was really just for Nadine in general. I don't like her muscles or her hair and she pretends to be badass but at the end of the day she's just a coward.

Well, that's the thing - Shepard was not a standard soldier, but an N7, an elite among special forces. Given the nature of Shepard's assignments, the crew should also be at the top of their game.

I've never been especially concerned about it - but I certainly would like to play a female character who looks like she knows her way around a gym in a Bioware game sometime.

...

I'd like to add that size or looking buff doesn't necessarily equate to better fitness, endurance or strength either. Having a toned and natural physique for the the in game model would be nice but I'm pretty neutral about having fem ryder beefed up like Velasquez or deadpool Carano. As with most things an optional setting would be a good addition and a win win for everybody(almost).

Oh, sure. I'm not saying Shepard needs to look like a powerlifter or anything.... But I'd like a bit more heft to the arms than we had in the original series. Obviously, humans are variable, some tiny people are terrifying and some big ripped people aren't, ect, ect... But I'd like my protagonist to not look lost in heavy spacefuture armor, even if it does have tiny motors doing most of the work.

With the exception of elves, DAI is actually pretty good at the protagonists not looking overtly broken, so I have grand hopes.

True which is why I said a toned and natural physique like Emily Blunt from EOT. I'm not against the more buff physique either but I personally prefer a more feminine yet toned figure to female Vega 2.0.

I think Customization options is always best answer.

The more Options I have to personalize my Character the better.

1. I want armor Options [ form fitting breast plates, or the kind that make you wonder is this a woman or not ]

2. Body option's heavier, smaller shoulders, wider shoulder, larger bottom, larger top, weaker, stronger, longer leg's & arms shorter legs & arms.

3. Head options, and so many hair styles even Hollywood would be envious.

4. skin options, galore pimples, beauty marks, smooth like a store manikin, freckles, old, young, and anything else that can be imagined.

5. I want walk options, from super sexy to moderately risque, to Business like, all the way to looking like a cow headed to the milk barn. everything that can be imagined

6.  Fingernail options, color, as well as length, or claw's, and disfigured hands

7. Also anything else that could be imagined, the more options I have the more personal I can make the game, and hopefully reach my Ultimate escapism fantasy.

Ladies and gentlemen: Nicole Mejia

Looks really fit, very female and attractive. Would be great as a body model for any human female ME:A character. Wouldn't say no to bigger breasts, though.

Honestly, FemShep does have muscle definition even on her arms. The problem tend to be the camera angles which sometimes distorts the view and certain outfit alter the wearer's body. Plus there's more problems with CGI rendering the joints which is a cosmetic problem for both female and male Mass Effect's body mesh.

For science!

See everyone's elbows and inner arms look weird.

Gina Carano for female protagonist in MEA. But I'm also of the opinion that Gina Carano should be in everything.

BTW, Ronda doesn't stand up to the task as the protagonist - too ugly

Dan Daly, a US Marine that was awarded two separate Medals of Honor, was only something like 5'6 and 135 lbs.

When I was on active duty I think the most I ever weighed was 165 lbs. I'm 5'10, so while I was fit I was always thinner than the Hollywood image.
