Sorry this is going to be a bit of an unusual thread, simply linking to another Thread and all ... but man the creation of the last one was such an involved and lengthy process I really do not have the energy to copy, paste and format it all properly again.  I got really into writing and planning it initially, but that last round of editing my "little" version of a Dual PC DA4 Concept taxed me so much, that I'll take the lazy route and simply link this thread to the original one.  :( 

If you've got the time and energy to take a crack at reading through it (and it is VERY long, so be prepared), take a look!  Comments and critiques are always appreciated.  Tell me what you think on this forum, or that one and I hope some people at least get a kick out of it. :D

TBH I don't have the energy to read everything. It looks well thought out and written. Is there any possibility of a summary? =]

 

And from skimming, it looks like you have the plot of the next game mapped out, rather than just the mechanics/explanation of how the dual protag system would work. Again TBH, I would rather analyze a dual protag system but leave the story details separate. Those feel like two separate ideas personally. I'm sure I'm missing a lot by not reading in depth and perhaps your system only works due to the plot you've laid out.

 

I feel like if Bio were to take fan feedback into consideration, though, it wouldn't be about the main plot since they (hopefully) already have that in mind, but we would just need to demonstrate to them how a dual PC game would be feasible. The dual PCs would need to be feasible regardless of the main plot, IMO.

 

I'll try to find some time to read through the thread at some point!

The content on Page 1 of the thread is primarily concerned with the mechanics and the practical implementation of 2 PCs, if that is what you would like to read exclusively vbibbi (although bare in mind it was tailored afterwards for the story I had in mind). ;)   Page 2 holds both the disclaimer of what I had to do setting wize to get my little fan story to work, along with much of the story.  Page 3 holds the final 2 Quests and what I intended to accomplish with such a fan project.  Both pages of which are skippable if that is not your cup of tea. ^_^ They are just a story I wrote up as an example of how such a system could be used, though to be fair I put quite a bit of thought into it (even despite being quite limited on what knowledge was available for both Solas' intentions AND Tevinter as a whole).  :)

 

It was a fun little side project tbh (though the required editing certainly wore me out), I've never really written something before.  As for Bioware actually taking any of this monstrosity I've created into consideration, meh ... I have no real thoughts on that prospect.  This was just the only way I could really rationalize the Inquisitor coming back as a playable PC in my head and I just figured I'd post it, the story was just a bonus cuz I don't like being half assed with my creative projects (in fact I tend to put WAY too much effort into them).  If Bioware were to somehow happen upon it and think there was a even a tiny fraction of usable ideas, they are welcome to them ... though I don't really see that happening. :P

OH! Though it should be noted that I still intend to (hopefully soon now that I'm on summer break) write up a brief rundown of the Epilogue slides for each decision + the passive reputations.  Also want to do a trifecta of how the 3 DLCs for my version would work.  This DA4 fan project isn't quite done with me yet. :D
