We got to the location where you fight Kaltenzahn the dragon. As it started to move towards us...Sera quips...'Oh, you coming to have a closer look at me'
I wish I was that smooth in the face of a giant fire-breathing lizard.

to which I reply: No idiot, the dragon is coming to eat us.
Not funny, just stupid to think that all the dragon was going to do was look at her. Just as bad as here veil comments - shows stupidity, makes here look like a simpleton.
Except she isn't, at all. Shes one of the most reasonable people in any of these games. She can't express herself in reasoned, logical means but her views and questioning of things are totally reasonable.
I wish I was that smooth in the face of a giant fire-breathing lizard.
Ice-breathing, technically.
And Sera is indeed hilarious, unless your Inquisitor disagrees with her politically. Then, troubled times are ahead. Otherwise, though, things are fine.

Hey! I remember you from the Sera thread struggling a lot with her because you wanted to feel like she was more open or had more potential to grow with the way she reacted to Lavellan. I enjoyed those discussions and I'm curious if you played a romance with her to Trespasser, and if you thought her evolution there was enough for you, or if you ended up feeling like there was no way to make that relationship satisfying.

I actually did make it to Trespasser romancing her as Lavellan; however, I wound up never finishing that playthrough, because while her becoming less antagonistic was great, the fact that she and my Inquisitor were talking about said elven issues as though they'd never discussed the matter in the two prior years was so immersion-breaking I couldn't continue. I am, however, driving an Adaar to completion right now, and the romance is working fine there.
Ah, that makes sense. Thanks for letting me know, I thought of you when I played Trespasser a long time ago, but I wasn't using the forums then so I never got a chance to see how you reacted.
Same. Sera takes a while for some players (Lavellan players in particular and Lavellan players who aimed to romance her most of all...) to really get Sera.
I played a Seramancing Lavellan in my first playthrough, and it only took her a few conversations to get her.
As for the disagreement parts, that to me is part of the reason I like this character so much, she doesn't just roll over after a few convos on a major topic like most other characters in bioware games do.

More interesting to have a character that holds onto their own opinion, yeah?
But then, you can't really change the mind of Dorian, or Vivi, or Solas, or others either. But no one ever mentions them, do they?

Er, Vivienne if anything has an even bigger hatedom than Sera, and Solas is highly polarizing. And Dorian is practically a southerner in his ideology already, which actually irked me about him, since I would be more interested in a good-hearted character with a nonetheless distinctly Tevinter mindset.
This says it all about Sera:
"... eight, nine, ten. Is she done talking? Continue. I like new but hate change, but I can't stop it this time."
I probably ought to put that in spoilers, but it's just sooooooooooooooooo good not to repeat over and over and over and over ...

I was playing a very elfy, pro-mage mage!Lavellan and Sera had been my first choice for a romance. They didn't get on (although they're friends by Trespasser).
I feel cheated. I've done at least 20 dragon battles with Sera, never heard that banter.
This. I take that broad every damn where. Not once. In fact I usually roll Bull Dorian and Sera as my default dragon hunting party.

Sera is what she is and as Cassandra said " I was train by the best warriors of the age. You was left a orphan on the streets with your wits and quiver neither being full." (close enough)
But,Sera did cut Cass several times including embarrassing her when talking about Cass's hair:
Sera said I bet she does have hair-places.
Sera! said Cass
Knew it ! says Sera.
Sera is in my main group just because of her antics and she a strong archer when properly equip and under my control got me out of several bad situations..
I stopped recruiting Vivienne because she is such a royal pita and degrades and talks down to the Inquisitor.
I mean to say, everyone complains about how you can't changes Sera's views but no one seems to complain (as much?) about the others characters whose views you can't change either, such as the aforementioned.
Honestly, I think it's because plenty of this group kind of likes Sera and would like to see her mature. I can only speak for me, but Vivienne is so unpleasant to me that I never even considered wanting to change her opinions. And I imagine most people who hate Solas would feel the same way.
Isn't that mandatory? The Dragon's Bane achievement shouldn't be possible without IB and Sera in the party for each kill.In fact I usually roll Bull Dorian and Sera as my default dragon hunting party.

Iron Bull can be in my party when he stops sucking in combat (I swear, the AI is worse than it is for Cole). Also, including both Iron Bull and Sera doesn't really work unless you're either a tank or a mage who's really confident in their ability to keep everyone's barriers up.
Just give Bull some vanguard tree skills at the expense of his Reaver ones, the AI can't handle Reaver.
Sera is probably near the bottom of Inquisition companions imo, and I never found her particularly funny or witty, but I think that's because I have a different sense of humor.
Sera was even funnier when I disagreed with her.

This is my preferred party in general, despite Bull's squishiness. I'm all about that banter, and hooking Bull and Dorian up if I'm rolling a human or elven female who is romancing Cullen. Bull and Sera just seem to enjoy the thrill of dragon killing so much. Plus, there seems to be less hate in the banter of those three than some of the other people.
Plus this happened once. And I totally didn't manipulate it. Swearises.

Pray tell, how does "good-hearted" go together with "Tevinter mindset"?
Between the blood sacrifices, demon summoning and slavery we would be charmed by his fondness of cute pets?
Very easily. Merrill's quite close to it in fact. As for slavery, look to Calpernia for an example.
