yes, I do, I have a friend that has written a book about Symbionts...that's why I got the idea....also I like the sounds of this word...:-)
Could be a nice title for the game, Symbiont Andromeda maybe referring to a hidden galaxy wich is its Symbiont...that could be a infinite source of material for quests and storilines....

In a way you are right, I push the artsy part of the game, I'm trying to introduce new foreign elements in the game but I don't have a disregard for the gameplay.
The ideas I propose have to be evaluated carefully to be introduced into the game, but this is BW job, I mean listen to the idea, to evaluate it and implement it with all the changes that they might think of...mine are just seeds that should,, in my intention, spark some interesting new game mechanics or new fresh content...I dont really know what the game will be as we have little information yet.
I always write few lines, I try to condensate with little words an idea, then you should build upon this..in a way is very very open to interpretations...of course if someone has a negative attitute towards this, the plant will grow ill and ugly...that's why I appreciate who is trying to make the idea grows, or even change it completely taking inspiration by the original seed....in few words, is up to you, watering or poisoning this idea, simple.
Teabaggin Krogan is helping me in this...so I thank her for doing that...:-)

Well, that's the thing... your short descriptions have had a tendency to make your ideas look like weeds, so people wanted to poison them.

I say "disregard for game design" because you often mention ideas that would do little more than simply annoy the player.
When an idea hasn't been seen before the first thing you should always ask is "why hasn't this thing been done before?". There's a good chance other people thought of it first but it simply just doesn't work.
It's more like building a house. It doesn't matter how much we try to build it up if the foundation was weak to begin with. In this case, you're the one setting up the foundation. I can only work with what you've set up.
In this case a good thing for synergy between squadmates I would find would be to simply design abilities of the classes in such a way that it allows for greater synergy between them. If we use ME3 as a baseline, the only real interaction abilities had with each other was biotic/tech explosions.
Instead we could have things like Incinerate burns away armour to weaken it, allowing certain biotic effects to treat it as a health bar at a reduced effectiveness. Things like Incinerate -> Stasis now become a combo against a hardened target for CC and since one is a tech ability while the other a biotic, it promotes cross class synergy.
Also note how everything I just said would be 100% optional if the player wanted to do it. In general from a gameplay design point of view, you want to be very careful about forcing your players to play a specific way. Especially in a game like Mass Effect which has a strong point in variety of gameplay styles.

At this point, I am not even sure it HAS to have a hole. It is starting to look like it is optional.

I dont ask myself if an idea has been thought before and did not work...because if it has not been implemented how could I know that someone has thought about it?....the symbiotics for me have an interesting appeal....it is a question about how well a concept is implemented....a good idea implemented badly is a mistake, the opposite if is implemented well....

The whole point of saying that one should ask why a particular thing hasn't been done is to get you thinking about how it would affect gameplay and if this is something that the fanbase at large would actually enjoy.
It's supposed to get you to focus on the game design aspect of the idea to refine it more before releasing it to the public rather than actually figure out if it's something that another developer has attempted before. It's not like you're on an elevator and you only have 30 seconds to pitch the idea to me. You can spend the time to refine the idea a bit, which would likely generate a more favourable response.
You also have to keep in mind that the point of a video game is to entertain the player. Walking down a hallway for 20 minutes while nothing happens is likely to be memorable, but not entertaining.
