Two things today.

 

One - I got a kill streak of 32. Now I know that is not a lot, in fact I have had nearly double that. BUT, it was with ONE hit by my Templer. I actually tried to set it up to see if I could do it. On FC 2/5 I put myself in the corner and just let them all come to me. Being the the corner they really couldn't hurt me with my shield up. After they were all there trying to get me, I hit shield bash! And WHAMO!!!!!! Huge change reaction. It was glorious! It really just made my whole day.

 

Two - In the same topic, I noticed on Threatening now, she can kill those huge red templar tank dudes with one hit. Not the giant ones but the one next down that shoot red lyrium from their chest. That was also very satisfying!

Good idea for a topic. A place you can skite a bit and not feel too bad about it.

 

Got a few things done in the last month or so:

• Got the Crescent Sword - just had a second one drop from a chest, worse damage but I'll keep it for now
• Completed spiders - feels good to be able to run in and spam 'over here' so someone else can grind some kills
• Completed all agents to 100 runs for the icons
• Completed 6 to 250 runs, with a couple more not far behind
• Got to the 4th star for slayer (only 240k more ...)
• First star of Banker - not even worrying about this one
• Carried a couple of pugs to victory in perilous with 3 in the fade as a Lvl 1 (rogue or mage - warriors are easy)
• Maxed out magic def/ and due to finish cunning to 200 tonight, constitution is getting there

 

 

Damn man.. that is some serious progress!  Cheers!

I assume you have the exploding bitter axe?   That is definitely a record which might stand for a while.  Definitely never got anywhere NEAR that with a single shot.  You should enter PUGS and tell them, "Okay, I will play with you, but you only get one shield bash per zone out of me.. "

Daamn!  I think I got almost 300 on the only real spider farming run I did..  I knew that would get me the final star, so I let myself die after that... I didn't know if I would lose progress with a crash and didn't want to do it again.

 

What did you use for your farming?  I used a high-level assassin so I could pop in and out of stealth at will.

Lets do one on one of the dragon runs!  Calling the dragon actually make it easier than doing normal HB run.   I still need 1 more to get 5/5.

I got impression that FC is generally easier than normal maps on HB. And dragon makes it even more easier.

Finally got 25 Perilous frost dragons last night, and a 72 kill streak woohoo.

Yeah, I always aimed for spiders and stole them in pugs whenever I could, but only really had one farming attempt.

 

Castle on Nightmare solo(so I wouldn't accidentally take out the demons) - using silent sister to work up attack speed.

Think it was on the second level and had about 4 demons spawning them constantly, ended up with my highest kill streak ever of about 240ish before I got bored.

Just got over 100 for my first stat, willpower. Cunning very close behind. Constitution not even close haha. Also just broke 900 on the prestige score so I am slowly getting up there.

Just broke 200 on willpower! (in fact, playing in a game with Terrell from above) 172 / 200 / 172.  Still going to push willpower higher before I return to constitution in earnest I think.. besides, I am enjoying all the mages.

 

Going to save the last 20 cunning promotions at least for when I actually get some rogue hakkon weapons.. otherwise, they would like just start gathering dust.

You sure about that... just look at them.   You don't wake up in cold sweat thinking that they are not all the same?   It would certainly bother me.. is like a 3 legged chair with 2 legs an inch shorter than the other.   And deep in your mind you know that if you bring your WP higher, they will not ever be even again!   You will not bring your cunnings to over 200....  they will never ever met up again... like lovers who had to separate forever until the end of time.... You know you can't leave them alone......  It is your destiny to bring them all to 200!

Nah.. I'm alright with them.  In fact, they are even more unbalanced now at 175 / 208 / 176.  But, they will likely stay at those numbers for some time.  Going to mostly take a break from the game.  Not sure if I have just been monumentally unlucky or if my account is broken.  Got 1182 prestige (with only 260 of that from the weekend limited events), run well over 300 NM dragons, and gathered and spent 3.25 million gold.  Through all that, I have gotten only one Hakkon and no PI amulet and most people I know with those numbers are getting close to the crescent sword.  It is just a pointless grind for me now.

 

I will hop on every now and then I suppose, since I will miss some of the other players, but I am mostly done except for a couple swan songs with the friends I have met through the game.  I hope DA4:MP has better top-end loot levels to better reward players that sink many hundreds of hours into playing.

Still makes me sad to see this. I hit this same wall because of the game's utter lack of end-game progression. Too much RNG. And I don't mean that in the sense that I got tired of the RNG, I mean that the game depends on it far too much to begin with.

 

I tend to play a few games here and there, but I still need three items to even have a shot at getting the crescent despite playing since November 2014 and being here for all the book rewards. Now, how many people would have saved 100k gold or bought platinum to get a chest with a guaranteed Hakkon/iLvl 27 and no duplicates? Because I would have. Too much value for money, I suppose. Oh look, I'm complaining again...

 

As you say, though, hopefully the next one is better.

It looks like the chance of high level itens has been reduced since the last reward chests in late December early January.

This year, the only high LVL item I received was a Master Stamina Amulet. I still miss 2 LVL 27, PI and Crescent. I've been playing for one year, but the last six months I'm at the same situation.

So I'm not sure if this will make you guys feel better or worse about RNG but I am hoping it will be better: As of 10 minutes ago, I just pulled a level 27 from a 2000g chest (Andruil's Gift). I have NEVER gotten a level 27 or Hakkon from a store-bought chest before even after playing for a year (I know those weapons weren't around for a year but still). I had some good luck fairly early on with this game but as of the last few months, I have gotten absolutely nothing significant. It took me months to get a single pact belt and more months to get all 3 with the electric belt (the only one I really wanted) being the last. So in terms of RNG looking bad for you, know that it can change instantly while completely not expecting it to.

 

That being said, I totally agree with the above-mentioned 100k guarantee chest or some similar system for the next game to better cater to more people.

I've been playing 16 months and just got my 4th Crescent.

I know someone who's only been playing 7 months who just got their first Crescent.

It's an unfair system but we are all at the mercy of RNG. You might never see what you want or you might end up with 10+ Crescent's like someone on this forum.
