The original ME was heavy on exploration. It became boring to continuously kill human and humanoid aliens.
Will this game have many non-sapient alien creatures for us to kill? In the trailer there were huge flying creatures on one of the planets.

Gentle four legged giants please. Something wise with a shell. Like the sneezing turtle island in never ending story.
Or the huge, Man-eating worms of Dune.
Probably, but if the 100s of planets boast is accurate, then don't expect a variety of species per planet. In fact, I wouldn't even be surprised if only a small fraction of the explorable planets even had native fauna.
Huge Space Kraken, flying whales, the bugs from Starship Troopers, big biotic predatory flying jellyfish. And T-Rex of course, for Grunt to chew ride on.

Those bugs from Starship were ripped off by the Rachni, huge space Kraken - that's the Reapers.....and I'm fairly sure T-Rexes went out of style 60 million years ago.
This is an absolute must! Especially considering the huge emphasis on exploration and discovering new places. We need more variety in the types of non-sapient creatures instead of just encountering varren and thresher maws everywhere. And the nice thing about non-sapients is that they give BIoware more freedom to to create some truly alien looking creatures, whereas most of the intelligent species will likely just be humanoid shaped. And please do not make all of them aggressive either. It would be cool to just run/drive around and see some gentle grazers or something off in the distance. It would make the worlds feel so much more alive. Please make this happen Bioware!
Additionally, it would also be nice to see some more alien looking plant life as well on the planets that bear life. Though from what we saw in the trailer, I think they'll be doing a decent job of that.
prodigiously punchable pyjaks pls
I hope they have very weird or unconventional alien creatures, not just space worms. But that announce trailer, with the huge butterfly, seems promising.
You still point and shoot, the abilities of the enemy and the interaction with the enviroment is what matters not the unit's fictional sentience.
I would like to see more bizarre alien non sapient lifeforms that can be quite dangerous. They can really let their imaginations run wild with it to.

Never heard of roleplaying & immersion, have ya?

It's something that comes from a variety of elements, not one. Have you heard of it?
¡Giant Insects like those from StarShip Troopers!

While I would love to have the Arachnids from Starship Troopers, they are sapient so don't fit what the OP is asking for.
We essentially have them already with the Rachni.
You mean the same one that was encouraging the main character to drown in the Swamps of Sadness? Um, no thanks. The Starbrat was bad enough trying to talk Shepard into taking a Leap of Faith into the shiny green light. I don't need an emo turtle in a ME game. Here's a like for the reference thoughGentle four legged giants please. Something wise with a shell. Like the sneezing turtle island in never ending story.
I kind of think humanoid enemies are most reflective of actual human conflicts though, it might not be pretty to have them form the main enemy, but it's certainly realistic.
Besides what did aliens ever do to us?
Unfortunately our problems are mostly man made...

On topic, I agree OP. It's a nice break from the humanoid aliens we see everywhere. If we're going to a new galaxy, I don't want all the races to have traditional civilizations with human-ish looks. I was a big fan of the Thorian myself. It was sentient, sure, but then again, so is the Rachni Queen. Shoot, even that race has a sense of a form of a civilization via the hive mind. But I'd like to see at least one or two races not humanoid, or very close to our world creatures like the Elcor and Hanar

Err... I'm trying to remember, are they all sapient? Not just the Queen and the brain bugs? I guess there's also differences if we go by the movie or the book.

As far as realism goes, if one day humans actually meet aliens, chances are that they won't be humanoids.

They were all sapient. They were able to learn on the battlefield, like finding weaknesses in the defenses via experimentation and also develop tactics to counter human weaponry and fighting styles. They just seemed mindless to humans at first because they are a completely collectivist race, where the individual meant nothing compared to the group so would sacrifice themselves without hesitation, and didn't know how to fight humans. Not to mention Brain Bugs, Queens, and God Bugs had a mind control capability over the bugs of the lesser castes.

I feel there can be no discussion of giant turtles - particularly in the context of a space game - without mention of The Great A'Tuin.
A giant turtle with four elephants on its back, that themselves support a giant disk filled with people, may not be quite in-line with what we've come to expect from the Mass Effect universe... But I'd still love to see some spaceborne life in the game. Who doesn't love the occasional Crystalline Entity? (People of Omicron Theta excepted, naturally.)

But would they be violent and want to attack us? I don't know... it's just weird because it's not hard to find "humanoids" who are psychotically evil so there's no need to go to space really I guess.
As long as I don't have to frisk monkeys again...
