It's something that comes from a variety of elements, not one. Have you heard of it?

Some people get off on roleplaying they're taking on intelligent enemies, not just mindless expendable cannon fodder like the Putty Patrol in Power Rangers.

But would they be violent and want to attack us? I don't know... it's just weird because it's not hard to find "humanoids" who are psychotically evil so there's no need to go to space really I guess.

That's the real question isn't it? I'd say that the likelihood of a hostile first contact is probably higher than a peaceful one.

There's just too much that can go wrong, especially when you have no way to reliably communicate.

But in any case, Mass Effect is a Sci-Fi universe, I'd much rather meet cool aliens than see yet another iteration of a "deep" trope like "Humans Are The Real Monsters".

If we have to fight DAI's bears this will be the shortest colonization attempt in history.

I always thought Thresher Maws were the Dune worms of Mass Effect. It would be funny if they were in Andromeda -- I already don't know how they get on every freaking planet in the Milky Way. To see them in another galaxy would be hilarious.

IIRC according to the lore they have spores or something that can survive in space. That opens quite a few possibilities.

Assuming that they are old enough, I can easily imagine them migrating between planets and possibly galaxies on a rogue planet, comet, asteroid,

unsuspecting space craft, etc.

No love for Shifty Looking Cow? I am disappointed.

As for the topic, I don't really care if they add many hostile creatures, but some more neutral creatures would be cool.

However, I certainly do not want to wade through an endless horde of animals that want to attack the party for no apparent reason as I travel around the map.  Nor do I want a random space-deer to become "hostile" and keep me in combat mode while it runs all over the place like it is on an acid trip.  And I certainly don't want random BS animals to have magical speed boost properties so that they can't be outrun via normal means.

I don't care what it looks like as long as I can do this to it

I also want space PETA to protest, and to subsequently be allowed to run them down with the Mako for more Renegade points.

Unfortunately for you, Space-PETA has more dreadnoughts than any other faction in Andromeda.

All the enemies will be generic space-dudes who will shoot from behind chest-high walls. It is inevitable! Mark my words.
