which of the ME3 MP N7s would make good starting points for Andromeda classes?

I like the Demolisher, Paladin, and Slayer for this purpose.  Their special effects weren't silly overpowered where it'd break a single player campaign.

Definitely not the Shadow and Fury.  Shadows were melee oriented, which defeats the purpose of infiltrator long range combat specialty.  Fury is too godly.

I'm unfamiliar with the Destroyer.

I would rather their powers simply be made available to the SP classes to allow for multiple play styles for each class.

Demolisher was a beast I could see myself adding to that. But I prefer Killroys idea just make the powers available. If we have to do this then subclasses are the answer.

ME3 totally screwed up when they eliminated subclasses entirely.

You think the Furry is OP, but not the Paladin? Both are brainless one button wonder kits. Paladin's Snap Cheese is literally broken by bugs to give multiple A and B evos simultaneously and do 200% extra combo damage.

Anyway, the only N7 I liked in concept was Destroyer. Furry, Slayer and Paladin are annoying and idiotic I Win button spammers, Demo is literally designed as a grenade spammer, and the Shadow is a comical space ninja that belongs back in Metal Gear or whatever where the writers stole it from, right along with other garbage like discount Raiden Kai Lame and his Fantums.

LOL. You get the damage bonus no matter what range you're at. Tactical cloak can give you extra melee damage too. While sniper rifles do get additional bonuses with infiltrators most of the time, this isn't always the case. Melee infiltrators are perfectly plausible. So are shotgun infiltrators, SMG infiltrators and pistol infiltrators. I personally use the Lancer on my QFI, which is medium range. But being a melee infiltrator doesn't defeat the purpose of them. They don't have to be long range. I personally like the Shadow. :P She can't compete to the QFI of course, but she isn't bad to play.

Generic SP Vanguard was much more power than the Slayer.
