Something that DAI did in a really cool way that I would love to see MEA adopt was the way the game actually acknowledged our class and play style.  In DAI when we picked our specialization party members and advisors would often have things to say about them.  It was cool talking to party members that would acknowledge our specialization whether it was talking shop with Bull, Cassandra warning me about the dangers of being a reaver, or talking with Varric about setting traps.

How cool would it have been to talk guns with Garrus or Zaeed, singularities with Liara, or tech with Tali?  ME 3 did a better job at acknowledging our class with Liara's time capsule scene, and DLC acknowledging Engineer Shepard.

I would love to see MEA acknowledge our class in dialog and even situationally like the Omega DLC did with the engineer.

Somehow I doubt the PC would have enough time for chit chat. Times are kinda pressing as they are.

You never talk to squadmates or other NPCs (such as Joker)  on the normandy in between missions?

I am going to be as close as I can get to a ninja. Infiltrator for example... If that returns. So, if my team wishes to point that out, I do not mind.

NPC: Oh look it is the ninja of the group.

Me: And don't you forget it.

In his defence, talking to Joker isn't very exciting anyway.

I thought he always had interesting quips after important story missions.  I just think it helps blend the roleplaying/story elements with the combat/gameplay elements for characters in the game to actually acknowledge what you bring to the table with your character from a tactical standpoint.

Joker: Hey Shepard, check out my new co-pilot!

Shepard: So EDI did all this without any help from you?

Joker: What's wrong? Don't you trust me? Alright, if I knew that EDI was going to install herself in a secy robot body, do you honestly think I could keep quiet about it? Look at that, I woulda baked a cake.

EDI: I'm right here Jeff

Joker: Yes you are EDI. Yes you are.

One of my personal favorites.

I talk to EDI. That idiot just keeps butting into the conversation like an irritating persistent wasp.

So far as I know, there's never been a Bioware RPG where you don't make conversation with your companions. There doesn't seem to be any reason to assume that would suddenly change.

As I recall, Baldur's Gate had very few companion conversations. The only times you ever spoke to them were when you recruited them or when it was directly relevant to the main plot.

This.

Shoot the VS he gets mad at the VS.

Kill the Quarians he gets mad at Quarians.

Yell at him.....

We are now enemies for life Shepard. No, screw you commander; I'll pilot your damn ship but I hope you die while you're out there.

Its just not worth talking to him sometimes.

Citadel did this a few times a well.

During the attack on the restaurant Shepard can throw either a Biotic Punch or use an Omniblade to take down the first CAT6 merc, CloneShep had a different gun reflecting Shepard's class and blocks/parries with either Biotics or an Omniblade during the final boss fight.

Small details like that I appreciated.

Bioware pioneered the kind of "cinematic RPG" where the emphasis was as much on the overall aesthetics/story/characters and stuff, which was eventually sort of copied in many ways by lots of people in a lot of ways.... but companion/companion conversations (and romance) in BG1 were pretty much non-existent.

The two kind of blended together at one point, but yeah Shattered Steel and MDK2 also had no romances but also were pretty much purely scripted and only thinly recognizable as RPGs.

This might be blasphemy, but I rather see a Skyrim/Fallout 4-system than a traditional class-system.

I'd rather see more variables in conversations for background story and character traits.

I think i've mentioned this in a different thread but it would be cool if you could do this with your LI in a ME1/Ash-Kaidan kinda of way. You could even get tips to different playing styles if their of the same class or another NPC could be pointed out if they're of the same class as the PC.
