Hello everyone, this is my first time post on these forums so if i posted this in the wrong place please inform me.

I just recently bought Dragon Age Inquisition, and started to play it. Rather quickly I started to get a little flustered that my decisions from the previous game where not the same (because I did not load any save data). I decided then to start from the beginning of the series. I just beat Dragon Age: Origins main game, and this is where I ran into my problem. In the end of Origins as an elf-mage I executed Loghain myself, put alister on the throne alone, refused morigins offer, and made the "ultimate sacrifice" on my character. All that is fine and dandy, except the "ultimate sacrifice" is not so ultimate. When I try to start Awakening the game gives me 2 options to either retcon my previous playthrough and play as a warden from orlias, or play as my already dead elf-mage and keep my save data. I do not know the repercussions of playing as my previously dead character, because the whole reason I am playing these games in the first place is to create the backstory I want in DA2, and ultimately (the main reason) Dragon Age Inquisition. So my question is how will starting as my previously dead elf-mage from the main game effect my awakening DLC, and the other two games as well? Will it override my decision to sacrifice myself in the main game, making Alister do the deed or making me having a demon child with Morigin? Remember my goal is to have my save games for Dragon Age Inquisition.

Thanks for any help in Advance!!!

You can't actually import your save games into Inquisition directly - to set up your world state you will eventually need to use the Dragon Age Keep. However, resurrecting your dead Warden WILL affect your save state for Awakening and DA2. The game will assume that the ritual with Morrigan was performed.

Here is how to keep your world state the way you want it: play Awakening with the Orlesian Warden. Import your Origins save into DA2. Then, after you've finished that, use the Keep to set up your choices and import them into Inquisition. I mean, if you wanted to, you could actually skip Awakening and DA2 and chose whatever you want in the Keep, but I think it's more fun to play them first.

Playing as the Orlesian Warden will not retcon your game, incidentally. The Orlesian Warden is the person who takes over if the Hero of Ferelden performs the sacrifice - the game will know that your new character didn't defeat the Archdemon. (You can't import your dead Warden's choices into your Orlesian Warden's game, unfortunately, but since you made Alistair king it doesn't really matter.)

Thanks for the quick response! I think I am just going to use the Dragon Age Keep. Do I have to pay for to use Dragon Age Keep?
