Getting to make a Mass Effect film or tv series and choosing not adapt the main trilogy would be akin to Disney buying the rights for Star Wars and making a film about the Infinite Empire.

That would be a movie I'd be very interested in watching.

There was a time I just wanted more. So I bought this:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2140141

Paragon_Lost_Poster.png

I'm an owner, but not PROUD owner of that garbage.

And to any future filmization/serialization of Mass Effect after that crap, I have to say:

No. Just don't.

Case in point.

I didn't mean it wouldn't be an interesting film, just as a lot of the Mass Effect lore outside the trilogy could make cool films. However, it just doesn't make sense from a business point of view. Or did you think Disney might have actually done that film instead of Episode VII?

If someone decides to invest money in producing a Mass Effect film, it's because they saw a great story being successful and they want to reproduce that. To expand the lore we have things like the animated films, novels, comic books, etc.

Not to be a debbie downer, but I really don't want to see this. I like a lot of things about Mass Effect, but the main story wasn't one of them. I've had enough Reapers for a lifetime... and it was never cool to begin with. I liked the world and was willing to play along with the Reaper stuff... until I realized how much it was taking a dump on everything I liked. There was a point where I thought we might move past it and I could have tons of other stories in this world....

Note that, if done right, an ME series wouldn't have Reapers too often until the final season. Remember how many Buffy episodes have nothing to do with the current Big Bad.

The new movie also didn't have to be a glorified re-make of episode four, but I digress.

I understand your point, I just wish to see a little more inventiveness and new stories instead of the constant regurgitation of past glories.

Disney and Mass Effect should never go in the same sentence.

*shudder*

The last thing I want for a Mass Effect tv series is for it to be like Star Wars!

Since Incursion has apparently been put into the back burner for the foreseeable future, and the number of new, good, and interesting space sci-fi TV-series is about zero ATM... I might actually watch ME TV-series, even if it turned out to be kinda mediocre.

ME universe has content aplenty and potential for a great series. There's 20+ years between the Eden Prime incident and the FCW, and a galaxy full of mercenaries, wars, and politicking with opposing political stances and ideologies, Specters, spies, etc., so there's plenty of material to draw from. Why did the humanity get a reputation as being an overly aggressive, opportunistic and a bit uppity species? How did the deep animosity between the Turians and the humans develop (beyond FCW)? How badly was humanity crewed over by the Council races during those 20+ years for people like Ashley to develop the sort of outlook she has during the games? There's a wealth of possibilities and opportunities here, and it's not like we've not had lore heavy sci-fi series before (Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, Babylon 5, SG-1 and other Stargate shows). I just... have a mighty sci-fi need.
