...along with any other human squaddie we start the game with?
In the original ME we had Jenkins the sissy. Going to Andromeda is an elite mission unlike Shepard's Spectre tryouts, so we should be given elites

I'm sure people will have plenty of reasons to b*tch about any or all of the companions. Happens every game.
Nah, she's the Avatar and joins the group after traveling to the spirit world.
They need not be N7 to be elite. To use a real world example, maybe you've seen the film "Black Hawk Down"? The unfortunate events portrayed in that film had Army Rangers (elite) working alongside Delta Force operators (N7 type elite). I think I'd prefer half my crew not be N7 to start the game. If they eventually work their way up, as Kaidan did when he became a Spectre, that's great. Of course, if the premise is that the entire unit is N7, that would make a certain amount of sense, too. Maybe the PC is the newbie?
Jenkins wasn't a sissy. He was just fresh, and never got a chance to learn his way around. I'm playing ME right now (presently setting off the neutron purge on Noveria). When I met Jenkins again for the first time, I wondered what he might have been like had he survived. He seemed like a fun kid. They really did a good job with him, making him likable and memorable in little screen time.
It was obvious that Jenkins would be the sacrificial char.
Jimmy Vega also had a mancrush on Shep without it turning him into a sissy.

I hope not. I don't want that terrible excuse for an Avatar anywhere near my party. She'd just mess everything up.
Cora what did I miss, should I lock myself and hold the door. Are Spoilers for story and companions already starting?
DAMN IT, that companion looks ugly. I don't care if they saved my ass, I'd let him die.
Oh dear God, another LGBT character. It's the agenda I tell you.
Oh brother, another Ashley religious nutjob.
Damn it, I can't romance (insert name), because they don't like wo/men. F*CK YOU BIOFAIL!
I hate (insert name), because they don't believe what I believe.
EW alien romance, disgusting.
That masked alien doesn't look anything like I wanted it too.
Just a few...
One of the favourite characters and not even in game model. Do it right or don't do at all.

You suck and she's awesome.
How? Everything after Season 1 is her fault and she doesn't evolve as a character.

Spoiler
Cora was the name of one of the squadmates in the leak last year. That leak is also where we get the idea of a Krogan squadmate named Drack comes from.

Cora is also supposedly biotic, leading some to think she might be asari (though there's no evidence other than "female biotic" to support that.
My guess is yes, after ME3MP and the N7 Spec Ops teams. I'm thinking that there will be no formal government to decide, and our hero will have to decide on humanity's fate.

I agree, Jenkins seems to have come right out of training and Eden Prime was probably his first real mission on the ground. He died following Shepard's orders, not through their mistake or any he made, but simply because he was caught in an ambush.
Jenkins probably wouldn't have even been on the mission if they had been carrying a full crew complement of experienced personnel, since we're told at the start that the Normandy was meant to have been on a brief shakedown cruise to test out the stealth drive when they get the distress call. The only reason Jenkins was picked was because it was his homeworld, so he knew the lay of the land better than the others.
I did like the brief mentions of him we got in the later games. Like how Chakwas talks in ME2 about a time when Jenkins begged Kaidan to demonstrate his biotics to him. A demonstration and ended with Kaidan accidentally throwing Jenkins right across the cargo bay and into a wall, leading them to think he'd been seriously injured... only for him to bounce right back up off the floor and declare "That was AWESOME!"
Yeah, Jenkins could have been a really fun character if he'd survived and grown into a more experienced soldier over the course of the series. I dunno why, but I could imagine him have potentially ended up with Kelly Chambers, since it seems like those two would probably have clicked.

You seem to be anti-redemption, huh? Blackwall and then Korra. Many characters in fiction messed up but how they fix it is what make the story interesting. Not everyone can and should be perfect.

but Hanako is right, Korra was a 0/10 avatar, a disgrace to all her predecessors

She's stronger than Aang though and master the two bending powers that Aang are weak at.

so?
she was an abject failure at just about everything she did, lost her connection to all previous avatars (good luck to the next one who has to rely on her sorry *** for advice), the bending stuff doesn't really count because she was weakest at airbending and lets be honest airbending >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> all others

She's flawed, and the story is written to reflect that. It isn't like we haven't met Avatars with bigger regrets. Roku and Wan both own up to their mistakes. Would her being more consistently successful really make her a better character?

Its one thing to have a flawed protagonist that must overcome limitations to triumph, it is quite another when 90% of said limitations are the fault of the protagonist to begin with.
Furthermore I just don't find her all that likable of a character to begin with. By the end of the show Varrick and the rest of the supporting cast was the only thing keeping me tuning in.
I can complain about Legend of Korra elsewhere though
Well, I agree that Varrick is awesome.

I love redemption stories. The problem is that after fixing it Korra makes the exact same choice that resulted in the problem she just finished fixing.
but Hanako is right, Korra was a 0/10 avatar, a disgrace to all her predecessors
And now future Avatars won't even be able to consult her predecessors.
The N7 guy in the teaser trailer was flanked by a Krogan and a human female. I'm betting on them being Cora and Drack, and Andromeda's protagonist inheriting the trailer N7's companions after the trailer mission goes awry. The trailer trio do get attacked by hostile aliens (the Khet?) after uncovering alien (the Remnant?) ruins.
It is definitely a possibility, especially if the N7 guy is the DuncaN7 mentor charactor a lot of people think he will be.
