What if Bioware would make a totally new series of rpg games what would you like to see and can you come up with a new name for the new series if they would make it.  And in what kind of era would you like it to see it happen because i red a couple of topics ago that some of you would like a pirate kind of era or an era with vampires and maybe lycans. Or maybe a game in the here and now or another one in the future like the ME series.

So do you all have something in mind about this "new Bioware series" thoughts ?

I'd like to see something cyberpunk, like Deus Ex Human Revoluton was, But with the strong BioWare characters, customizable protagonist, decisions and more open world (less linearity). It could take place on Earth in the near future (2050-'70) with none or not much space travel (maybe a Moon colony or orbital stations). Whatever the case, I want dystopic, big neon cities, synth / synth-rock music, fun gunplay with loads of gun customization and realism in terms of violence and sexuality.

I honestly have no idea. I'm the worst when it comes to naming things. My future child will be in trouble.

EDIT: After some thinking, if the game featured augmentations or AIs, it could be called "Electric Soul", although it might work for a single title, I'm not sure it would be great title for a franchise, so it might be the subtitle for the first installment.

You don't have to worry about her/his name there is always your wife who can come up with the name of your child ( you only have to agree/disagree with the name that's a lot easier ) assuming that you are a Male of course  ;).

Kind of like how I picture CDPR's Cyberpunk 2077.

Totally forgot about that one. Since we haven't seen any new promotion materials except that small teaser years ago... but I guess that is fine, there is no hype yet to ruin the game with impossible expectations.

I would like something similar to Shadowrun in terms of lore/setting: a futuristic world with elves, dwarves and mages. Heck would love somethin' like the DA Mage-Templar thing or the Wardens/Blights in said setting. But I want traditional point 'n' click gameplay and a silent PC with lotsa RPG options. And ORIGINS.

If a New series is to be created, then the writing team need to diversify. Writing whether it be for a series of books, for games, TV shows etc requires that an increasingly large and nuanced world and its inhabitants be fully represented with stories, characters, arc etc. But usually you will find that certain core issues get retold over and over and over because they are soapbox issues for the current writers. Certain characters will constantly steal the spotlight and focus, various races, institutions and regions will barely feature despite their supposed importance to the story and setting etc etc which is indeed the problem of Dragon age

Since the departure of writers like Jennifer Hepler under difficult circumstances, races like the Dwarfs have lost their advocates on the writing staff and are sliding completely out of focus. For a new series they should  stop playing favourites with certain characters (do I even need to name names here for Dragon age?) and cast a wider net in the races, issues, agendas and areas they focus on. With a whole world of potential, it feels like we are continually spinning our wheels on the same issues, the same areas, the same soapbox issues.

And it all starts with the writers. You need fresh perspectives, and people who want and are able to engage with new ideas and directions to take the story in for a series, who have new kinds of tales to tell.

Something where Bioware doesn't sacrifice the good story for the sake of edgy gameplay. I'd like to see their go at a crime game perhaps.

Although not strictly Bioware, I am still waiting for that crossover between the Sims and Mass Effect!

But why is this topic in the Dragon Age general forum?

There is nothing more that you want to add to your new crime game ? And how would you call your new crime game series ?

There is no reason of why i posted this topic here i posted this topic here because almost all my topics are posted here. And then what difference does it really make where i posted something like this topic ;).

But what if they did can you come up with a new type of game series that you want to see like i mentioned in my OP ?

'cause that way you have more RP freedom.

I don't know how would I call it though, not yet at least.

I'd be very keen on something loosely based on TSR's old roleplaying game, Gamma World.

I'm under the assumption that the new IP is not going to be a roleplaying game at all. Think about it. What new world can they create that isn't already like Mass Effect (a Sci-Fi game) or Dragon Age (a Fantasy game), or does not border on what other game developers have or are making? Roleplaying games are covered. BioWares new IP needs to be something truly marvelous and outstanding and I can't think of any area of roleplaying they can go that would allow the new IP to stand out among what is already out there.

I think the new IP might simply be something like a first person shooter.

I honestly hope not if only because I have absolutely no interest in first person shooters.

I just hope (being sincere) the gay scenes are very ribald and feature ample amounts of steamy hot male/male and female/female action, as well as males jumping from female to male.

OMG, that was one of my favorite tabletop RPGs. That and Call of Cthulhu.

I don't know what the new IP is about but i would like to know the timeline,if it is a futuristic game like ME or one focused on the
past.
