Yeah, I dont buy into this theory at all.

The trailer shows off what appears to be an exploration party scouting out and surveying an uncharted area and then charging at what appear to be for lack of a better word 'Transforming' buildings that emerge from under the flowing desert sands. (It honestly looks like Rannoch but thats not where I'm going with this.)

The trailer is symbolic. It shows off an explorer who's clearly searching for something which turns out to be dangerous, a search that ends abruptly. His face is covered so is the female (So there's no guarantee she's even human.) who (on a place looking like Rannoch.) appears to be wearing Ashleys armour from ME.

Which to me suggests a TL.

We know that it takes place in the future due to travel time on the ARK. Cora is a companion in the future. Wearing Ashley's armour would be as effective as attacking the collector base with an MG44.

So I think we're looking backwards at events that have already taken place and probably lead us toward a dramatic plot twist involving this guy or the legacy he's left behind.

He's a trailblazer, that's his team and you're walking in their footsteps.

k and

Edit: He's just an old cowboy who went riding out one dar windy day.....

Mike Gamble confirmed the female in the trailer is a human.

I believe Mike Gamble confirmed the female in the trailer is a human.

Ok then I'll add that one to the list.

You're taking a weird position here in that half of what you're saying is backed in the leaks the after half is disputed by BioWare themselves.

I'm a believer. E3 is just around the corner. We'll find out then. It was taken down pretty fast. The leak I mean. When you compare it to the trailer and the leak down to the tiniest details as well as the Reddit leak. Pretty accurate so far.

He is the protagonist. He's seen with the two squadmates from the leak. Of course bioware would say that isn't him. Or her. The bad guy may be a friend or somethin. But it's pretty obvious that he is the protag from pics and information.

I could see this being true.  Why wouldn't he be.  He's designed to look like the playable character.

I am suspicious that he may end up being our foe, at some point.

This was a gut idea of mines.

Bioware must avoid a second Saren though.

We lose contact, search for him while colonizing, and discover the whereabouts of Trailer N7 Guy halfway through the game.  He voluntarily cut communications because our colonization of Andromeda would be bad for the aliens of the new galaxy.

Trailer N7 Guy is a roadblock in our mission.  We kill him along with the Andromeda aliens on his side.

We ARE the evil guy killing someone who had a benevolent change of heart.

I don't know if he will be our for willingly, or if he will be used by our foe, or neither. I just wonder if something like that could happen.

It's clear that the "non-protagonist N7 who is important to the plot" must either help launch the story or help drive the plot along, somehow. I really wish I could reach forward in time, snag and play a copy, and answer all these questions for myself now. ;)

Surprised no ones gave him a nickname yet apart from me. I call him Johnny Cowboy because the Johnny Cash track in the trailer, how similar he holds his Carnifex hand cannon to the Cowboys of the those 'merican western flicks and that he chose the desert like planet over the rest with vastly different landscapes. Not sure if bioware will reveal info on him this upcoming EA play though I do hope they keep him a mystery if he is largely integral to the plot.

I like how generic Trailer N7 Guy sounds.

anyways, I got it.

After reporting that Andromeda is a habitable galaxy, he continues exploring and runs into the Khet.  He becomes convinced that intergalactic colonization harms the Khet and works with them to eliminate The Milky Boys.

His treachery has a major impact in the story.  Trailer N7 Guy is a decorated war hero [hey BroShep you weren't the only human taxing Reapers].

1) The information he shares about the Milky Way's military is a huge advantage for the Khet.

2) Our playable character idolizes Trailer N7 guy but he must be eliminated as apart of our mission.

We get a huge surprises as the antagonists are the ones doing the right thing and have to kill our hero.

Colonization has historically been a nasty business.  I want to be evil while playing as a colonizer.

He's the protagonist. He's seen in the leak with Cora and drak. He's seen in the trailer with them. The Protagonist shown during comic con in 2014 is the same model. I'm pretty sure there's nothing really more to debate about this topic. I suppose they only way we'll know for sure, considering everyone wants to make assumptions about it, is E3.

Gotta agree. He was shown at first ME presentation as "your hero" and he's running around with our future squadmates. Until game's release one should apply some skepticism on anything Bioware says.

But I'd like the idea of hunting your former chief/subordinate who went full Pocahontas. Such stories done from Jake Sully's perspective are done to death and boringly predictive. Just imagine all these pretentious dialogues: "We have no right to...", "You were supposed to do the job, not to question it!" and some classics like "You were like a brother to me!".

It has been repeated countless times that "Trailer N7 Guy" isn't the playable character.

My gut says he's the tip of the spear, the initial human explorer into the Andromeda galaxy.  He's the proven veteran who gets the very important mission.

Trailer N7 reports that colonizing Andromeda would be fruitful, but sh1t hits the fan during his expedition.  The Alliance loses contact with him, and this is where the N7 we'll be playing as comes in.

We're now tasked with colonizing Andromeda and finding Trailer N7.

Anyways, what role do you think Trailer N7 has in the story?

nice nice

Or the game starts with us going to Andromeda with Trailer N7 Guy and being under his command.

He dies fairly early on and we end up in charge.

This lines up what what has been said.  How our playable character is still a nobody and not a war hero yet.

Trailer N7 Guy can not be killed, he's just missing in action  :P

I like the idea of N7 being a bad guy. We'll find out on the 12th.

Saren going rogue wasn't very impactful.

We didn't know or give a damn about him on a personal level.

The mistake they made with Saren was making him a villainous bastard even before his indoctrination. He would have been a more interesting character if he was written to be heroic and likable before the indoctrination, with post-indoctrination Saren being an example of what could have happened to Shepard under different circumstances. The scene where Saren can be convinced to kill himself for the good of the galaxy would have had more emotional weight if it felt like the redemption of a tragic character.

There's nothing tragic about Saren in the game however, because he had been hoping to use Sovereign as super weapon to hammer humanity, before he understood what it was.

yeah i mean i liked Sarens character anyway but the scene where you come face to face with him on Virmire is pretty intimidating even now after god knows how many playthroughs but i have to admit with that being done the whole indoctrination reveal scene would have been much more shocking

It would have been no more cliche than the mustache twirling villain in the shipped game.

So traveling to and from Andromeda and/or communication between it and the Milky Way will be as easy as making and intraplanetary phone call?

I doubt that. But then I'm pretty sure the Ark is going on a one way trip and that it departed before the ending of ME3, at the very least.
