I hold on to the idea that the N7 logo was used by Bio as a marketing attention grabber and look.... it worked!

 

That is why Bio mentioned he is NOT the protagonist.

It has been repeated countless times that "Trailer N7 Guy" isn't the playable character.

 

My gut says he's the tip of the spear, the initial human explorer into the Andromeda galaxy.  He's the proven veteran who gets the very important mission.

 

Trailer N7 reports that colonizing Andromeda would be fruitful, but sh1t hits the fan during his expedition.  The Alliance loses contact with him, and this is where the N7 we'll be playing as comes in.

 

We're now tasked with colonizing Andromeda and finding Trailer N7.

 

Anyways, what role do you think Trailer N7 has in the story?

 

Probably not the first pathfinder. He might be IF it's a direct sequel. If not, if the story starts before the ending of ME3 I don't think they would have the time to send one guy with some companions to explore it first sight and then turn back to tell them it's all cool.

 

Where does he relate? No idea. It could just be one of those story unrelated trailers who's purpose is to hook you and show you something familiar(N7 logo). But maybe he'll be the new Illusive Man or/and the one that first discovers the first Remnant ruin or how to adapt their tech to "our" technology.

Well, I came up with something similar to a theory in the twitter thread, thanks to the analysis of this video  :

 

 I want to point out something the author says: she says it is possible three Arks start the journey but only one (protagonist's Ark) made it to Andromeda. What if N7BadGuy's Ark made it too but not in a good way? For N7 his Ark would be the chosen one, not ours. He would be so pissed off we made it without pain as their Ark, something like that.

An approach like that would give us some Cerberus vibes, in a sense we have not only the conflicts preexistent in Andromeda with the natives (Khet and Remnant) but also we have some of our own people which don't think about us as allies anymore.

Best part is when you identified the southpaw stance and multiple ark ships.

 

Seeing all those arks makes me think this is more than just an innocent exploration.  We're evacuating as many of humanity's best as possible for the sake of survival

I don't have N7 armor on my shep all the time. Your point? My point is that guy we saw at E32014 was N7. Guy in trailer last year leading OUR squadmates, N7. Guy with dust on suit, N7 protagonist. It's all there. Guy with Krogan who is dropping human off platform, N7 armor. He's us. See.

you're right.  We could not be that one specific N7.  But we can be a different person and still N7.

N7 guy with his helmet makes me think of Cullen with his lion helmet.

I dunno its just a feeling, but maybe its someone we've seen before. Not a companion from the first 3 games, but someone from the backround/sidelines.

They've alluded to there being more than one Ryder and alluded to a Ryder Family in the live interview which means it is possible the person known as the Trailer N7 Guy may be related to the protagonist.

 

Also, female character at the end of the trailer is fem!Ryder.

People creating characters like to lean towards goody good Superman types even though Batman types are much more successful.

And that's more likely how? What sibling? There is no sibling. It's bull****. That is my fear for Andromeda. I customize my appearance and I have a sibling who looks nothing like me. How are they going to explain that?
