I am fine if BioWare decides to go the route of having a squad member die during the game, but if they do that I would want it so they never return to another game regardless of how much begging and pleading people are doing.  As I have said multiple times in the past, I wish they never brought back the characters from the previous Mass Effect games in Mass Effect 3 for they all felt disposable and worthless to the game's story because they might be dead or undead.

I wouldn't mind, as long as the dead squaddie isn't being possesed by some kind of metaphysical creature obsessed with one moral principle which might inadvertently screw everything up in a later game. Or force us to track down the wife. The whole "he died bravely" routine becomes even more awkward when 'his' corpse is standing right there waiting to be used as canon fodder.

I don't necessarily mind if you lose a squadmate due to a reasonable plot point.  Don't want the gameplay to dictate this necessarily.

Aren't most of the people can be killed by the end of ME3? Except for Liara, but that only happens if you intentionally want to kill everyone including your Shepard. If she died, she's taking everyone with her.

I would like an actual dead squaddie. Riddled with bullet holes with dried blood all over his body and armor and awfully bloated from the gas buildup.

And we drag his lifeless body around, acting like he is still alive and well because the protagonist can't deal with losing people - thanks to a severe case of PTSD.
