I have a character that I can see on bioware social and would love to use her story for DA2.

I also have a hawke that I played before.

Is there any way to get them as a save file or any way to continue the journey with them? Unfortunately I used to play them on an old computer I no longer have.

Would reinstalling DAO restore them? I'm desperate!

Thank you :)

If you want to use them for DA2, then I'm sorry but you're out of luck. The Social info is only the character's basic stats and a small thumbnail image, the same as is uploaded to the Keep.  You'd need an actual DAO save file to import into DA2 which would have been stored on your computer.  Reinstalling the game won't restore them if you don't have them anymore, but you can recreate your Warden's save for import to DA2 with this save generator.  It is rather buggy, so I recommend a tutorial from here (Editing World Vault, nearly at the very bottom of the files page) to check for and fix any errors.

If you want to carry them both on to Inquisition instead, all you need is the Keep and you're all set for that. No need to reinstall or even replay the games. :)

Ah that sucks :(
I'm praying for a back up on origin but I don't think there is. I wanted it just to play dragon age 2 as I hadn't finished it before getting into inquisition.

I just finished mass effect and now I'll try to complete dragon age 2 and 3 (the first one would take a lifetime to do again lol)

The save generator's your best option then, I think. Or maybe hunting around via Google and/or the Nexus for a save that matches your Warden close enough.  You won't see the Warden in DA2 and their story is only mentioned a few times, so even just the basics (race, class, gender, romance, how the dark ritual went, Alistair's fate) should get you through the game without too much immersion breaking :)

Sounds that way! So annoying that I can see her but can't get the file back. I loved that character :( lol
Oh well!

Doesn't Origin store our saves on cloud as Steam does? Shame on you Origin!

I've more than once reinstalled a game on Steam and my saves were all there. It's lovely to just uninstall a game I won't play anymore knowing I'll be able to install back and have my saves.

There's a 100MB/game limit to storage on Origin. My saves for a single one of my DAO characters, (and I have dozens) exceed that.

DAI saves, (like ME ones) are much, much smaller.
