In the room where you find tali, there are specs for a Geth Assault rifle.  But, after the mission, it did not appear in my list of weapons to use.  Is that intended?  What was that upgrade I got then?  Thanks!

ah nvm, they answered my question in that thread. It was a weapon upgrade, not a new weapon.

I think it might have been just a generic AR upgrade, not an actual schematic.

if you play on hardcore only youll get it. GAME on hardcore.

Finally an incentive to game on higher than Veteran difficulty then, if it's true.

They're wrong, it's just someone messing with you. It doesn't matter what difficulty you play at, you always get the same stuff. It's only the enemies that change with the difficulty.



It's like saying how in the original street fighter 2 if you beat everyone twice without taking any damage you got Shen Long.

Then the strategy guide is wrong as well. That's where I got my info anyways. Plus, without the geth rifle there's only 18 weapons in the base game, not 19.

It's wrong, it's just an upgrade not an assault rifle. If you don't count the superior version of a weapon, each weapon only has two variants. That's it. The DLC adds a third variant to assault rifle, sniper, and apparently there's a shotgun on the way.

Ah nvm, I can't read.

DLC adds a third variant to AR and SR? Would that be DLC that hasn't come out yet or the Zaeed DLC? So far I've only come across another heavy weapon doing his loyalty quest. I know there's another shotgun coming.

Also, it's likely the writer wrote that you got the Geth Assault rifle, and either he forgot to mention that it's simply an upgrade to normal assault rifles, or that you read it incorrectly.



Either way, there is no Geth Assault rifle yet. I wouldn't be surprised if the next DLC pack had it though.



Also, Bioware provides multiple ways to get weapons usually, if you miss it in a mission, you can get it later usually at a store.

The weapon is called the geth pulse rifle.

Im pretty sure i got it on the recruit tail mission
 
I play on hardcore, but im not sure if you have to do the mission on hardcore to get it, maybe you guys just missed it?


Dont freak out if you dont get it, I think the battle rifle is better anyway, the pulse rifle shoots very fast and has lots of ammo. In the weapon bio it says it is effictive vs shields and barriers but not vs armor.


I can 100% confirm it is in the game.

If you play on Hardcore or higher you acquire the Geth Pulse Rifle right before you get to the end of the mission, the Geth rifle upgrade part is acquired little earlier in the mission. The strategy guide is not wrong, I am on my insanity play through and I just acquired it. On my first play through, on veteran, the weapon wasn’t there.
