Yeah, in ME1 and 2 the main advantage of choosing to be a Soldier is being able to master all weapons, something unavailable to the other classes due to their focus on powers/a single weapon style.That's exactly why I want weapon restrictions to make a return. There's no reason to play as soldier, when my vanguard can do everything better than a soldier.

No. The solution is to make Soldier more interesting, not return to the dumb system where soldiers were the only ones able to use the cool weapons.

Dumb down, ha. The games are so much more easier. With my Vanguard charge and shotgun was the most effective way for the class to get those enimies whom were far away. I was pushed to utilize my charge ability. Now all I can do is equipped a sniper rifle. It just breaks the purpose of charge. Biotic classes and tech classes should be ability focused while soldiers be weapon focused. Now every class is running around like soldiers who are much better at being soldiers than the soldier class.

I like the build customization in mass effect 3, adding weapon restrictions will reduce the fun.

All they need to do is use the MP variant, which is one of the strongest abilities in the game.
Plus Shepguard's main damage output strength comes from Incendiary Rounds being completely broken in ME3, which the Soldier gets as well.

By broken, I think you mean fun:
Fire Incendiary Rounds --> Enemy catch fire --> Fire Concussive Shot --> Enemy go boom
Rinse, repeat.

Soldiers could also get some passive bonuses as well:
Armor layer. Soldiers get a layer of slowly regenerating armor between their shield and health bars for added durability.
Weapon weight bonus, Soldiers can carry more weapons before incurring any cooldown penalty.
Health bar segment merging. Soldiers can merge their health bar segments, allowing them to regenerate more health (40%, 60%, 80%) without medigel.
Weapon stability bonus. Soldiers get the Geth Juggernaut Soldier's extreme stability with weapons, even when out of cover or moving.

Soldiers should passively move faster, maybe have faster animations flat out.
Would also be neat if they had access to different military-grade HUDs. Something comparable to Geth Scanner or Devastator Mode. Imagine if that screen in the bottom had useful info, like say a rear view screen.
I see Soldiers having more passive buffs, allowing them to concentrate more actions on firing their weapons and less time spent pressing buttons and stuck in animations.

Yeah that's fun not broken.
But Incinerate + Incendiary Claymore shot = dead Platinum Brute is closer to broken and unintended.

As *the* weapons spec, the soldier class should get some weapons-based advantages over other classes even if doesn't come in the form of access to exclusive weapons. Ammo abilities and adrenaline rush aren't really enough to make the class stand out and be a fun alternative to some of the others.Weapon restrictions was crap. May it stay dead forever.
If not exclusive access to heavy weapons, maybe weight restrictions should return, with the soldier class having no weight restrictions. Other classes could take a heavy weapon, but maybe only with a sidearm as a backup, without some weight restrictions. Pure caster classes should probably get hit with weight penalties even if a heavy weapon is the only weapon in the load out.
