No racing...Just no. While I love racing, It doesn't belong in Mass Effect. If I want to race I would rather play countless other racing games. It doesn't need to repeat Arkham Knight's mistake by shoehorning stupid races into the game. I agree with capn233 that chasing someone occasionally would make sense or escaping from the natural cataclysm like avalanche or a space monster. But no racing. Their most important task right now is building a massive world worth exploring, not making new mechanics that aren't needed at all.

I can't wait for the mako redux. Nothing wrong with driving, especially in the context of unstructured exploration.

It's the racing game that's garbage.

Did you just unironically use the words "Nothing wrong with driving" and "Mako" in the same post? Because before now I was under the assumption that that was absolutely impossible.

Swooping is bad.

Alistair approves.

Indeed you want racing play a racing game like P roject Cars or Grid Autosport or even one of the F1 games by Codemastres just leav eracing out of the ME games Let Biowaer do wha tmakes ME unique to other games not take elements from othres and create a mish mash of one.

I said there's nothing wrong with driving as a mechanism for unstructured exploration in this sort of game.

But the mako was fine.

It could be space racing, Mako racing, or even Swoop racing I don't care which it is as long as we get something with high drama like pod racing with aliens taking trash while trying to blow you up on the race track.

And sand people Andromedians indigenous taking potshots middle-race?

Honestly I hate racing in games that are not about racing (Forza, whatever). The only non-race game in which I could stand racing is GTA V, it looks pretty fun.

Seriously though, I hope they employ their resources in a more conscious manner.

This isn't some jerkload racing game, it IS a space based galactic confrontational endeavour, get off with that driving detritus.

exactly what I think I've even listed a few of my fave racing games for when I'm in the mood for a bit of racing. Granted there was a little bit of a racing sectoin in the Shadow Broker DLC when you'er chasing Vasir I think her name was bu tthat should be the extent of it I think. I wouldn't want them to take it any further  than that.

Nah, sorry, OP. I don't like racing minigames in games. Never have been a fan of it. And it seems like games that do have it always want to angle a way to make you do it.

Armax Arena in Citadel dlc was alot of fun. I enjoyed the way that mini game was set up, and the different characters you could bring with you. I even loved the in game leaderboards they displayed with, for example, Aria listed, etc. Nice detail.

But please no racing mini game.

Only if they can match Need for Speed detail and intensity...and make if fully optional for people who are not interested.  Otherwise, no.

Some minigames are fun. However if they feel forced then it loses on that fun factor. If they seem rushed and underdeveloped then it loses on that fun factor.
>Racing in DAI... to compare it to another horse race of equal development the horse race in Ocarina of Time was more engaging.
>Swoop racing beyond the one forced mission to do it it was at least developed to the point where you could do it on almost every planet for a bonus of credits.
>The turret minigame in the KoToR series, no, just no. having to shoot 5 enemy starfighters in hyperspace was stupid after the 3rd time. Would be different if it was challenging and didn't discourage travel between planets prior to never wanting to step foot on that planet again.

>Pazaak was not forced unless you were going for credit bonuses and like swoop racing was on every planet.

>The minigames in ME1-2 to open things. NO. I got to a point where I had them memorized for awhile and when you have rooms with 3 of them every other enemy >engagement it got friggin annoying.
>Planet scanning was not that bad. Yes it was tedious. However if you only went to planets with the highest level of minerals and learned what color of planet correlated to the priority of minerals on that planet you didn't waste much time scanning unless you wanted to strip mine planets like Uranus.
>The arcade in the citadel DLC however was a royal pain because weapon mods were locked behind it and you had to learn new mechanics and systems just for ONE instance of ONE minigame for ONE prize. I'd rather planet scan or do ME2 hack/bypass.
>The car chase in LotSB was great however I feel like it is wasted resources as that is the ONLY instance across the entire series and thus how much resources was spent developing that which could have been put in something to benefit across the rest of the game.
> The firework minigame in the trespasser dlc for DAI. If it weren't for the golden nug i'd be pissed

>Armax arena was ideal because it was a revamp of the basic combat of the game with a leaderboard larger squadmate pool and additional challenges and thus pretty engaging and developed and was similar and yet not too similar to MP. It was also repeatable which is what the non annoying ones in this list was lacking.

>Bonus (As it's not a bioware game), Donky Kong 64 had 2 old arcade games you had to get a certain score on to get a key that unlocked the final boss. NO, just NO. NO NO NO NO NO NO NOOOOOOOOOOO

I missed that from the Kotor days.

What I want is nothing more than the hilarious crap you could do in ME1 with the... let's just call it "Wagon of Drunkeness".

I liked that rock on Therum where if you put a wheel on it, the Mako would do a somersault.

Only if they can match Need for Speed detail and intensity...and make if fully optional for people who are not interested. Otherwise, no.

Yay! Atrocious rubber-banding feature!
